Development Approval Process The State Coordinator-General (SCG) and the Development

Assessment Commission (DAC) have been appointed as the relevant bodies to accelerate the planning and development approval processes for the Renewing our Streets and Suburbs program.

• The SCG has the power to issue an approval f rom the requirement to obtain Development Plan consent (planning exempt ion).

• Once the SCG has approved a proposal, DAC becomes the relevant for the issue of Development Approval.

This process includes a planning exempt ion for both:• Built form proposals; and• Land division proposals.

Applicat ion and approval process facil itated by Renewal SA

In mos t forms of tendering, Renewal SA will have already obtained planning exemption.

If the above does not apply, builders will forward 2 x copies of their planning application to Renewal SA for review. If s atis factory, Renewal SA will forward it to the SCG for exemption.

Once SCG approval has been is s ued, Renewal SA will notify Builders

Once BRC is granted, Builders s ubmit copies of BRC to Renewal SA who will forward to DAC for is s ue of Development Approval

An Economic Development Commitment with work experience and paid employment positions is included within the RFT

These opportunities are established by the Works Program team in consultation with the Project teams and are dependant on the scope and duration of works.

During the tender process if interested parties would like more information on the Economic Development clause T&E Manager and Coordinator can discuss this with them.

Once the contract is awarded The Works Program Coordinator: Meets with successful contractor to understand their

business requirements and timeframes. Coordinates work experience placement for the

contractor:• Candidates sourced and resumes provided to the

contractor for selection. • Insurance cover organised for placement and

evidence of any required licences, tickets, qualifications provided.

Candidates are sourced from a variety of sources.

Work Experience participants can be placed with the successful tenderer’s sub-contractor
