Building Online Learning Environments

Edmodo
• This "facebookesque" site is a safe and easy way to have children utilize the computer in the classroom to interact with their peers and/or the teacher.
• Allows teachers to post assignments with a deadline, take surveys
or polls, or just have children respond to a simple question.

Online Learning & Evaluation Tools Continued
There are a variety of wonderful websites to use to find lessons that can be implemented into the classroom immediately Favorite site: http://www.lessonplanspage.com/ I enjoy using google docs to create lessons. I can share them with my colleagues and have access to them at both school and home! My lessons:

Online Quizzes/Surveys
This was my favorite section of the Online Learning Environments. Creating online quizzes/polls is extremely simple and fast. I think it is a great way to integrate technology into the classroom, even with
limited resources. My Creations

Online & New Media Solutions For Differentiated Instruction
• There are so many fun and creative places where teachers can integrate technology into the classroom. I really enjoyed making a personal timeline, using linoit as a class "post-it" page, and glogster for online poster making.

Successes/Challenges/Moodle Learning
I have mostly all sucesses. Every site that I went to, I really enjoyed and could find a way to utilize them in my classroom at some point in
time throughout the school year. I did have trouble starting my online learning environment (edmodo) because I wasn't exactly sure
what I wanted to put on there. I have such a set curriculum to follow in my reading intervention groups, that I really need to be creative to
make a page that is functional for my current teaching placement.
I love moodle learning. I think online learning is an excellent tool for educators that already have limited time to sit through three hour
courses one night a week for a semester. I can complete the coursework on my own time, and still learn very valuable information
without sitting in a classroom.
