1. INTRODUCTION

The EUROPEAN KYOKUSHIN FEDERATION (EKF), affiliated to KYOKUSHIN

WORLD FEDERATION (KWF), and the Asociación Deportiva KYOKUSHIN KARATE

ESPAÑA and BUDO KARATE CLUB, are the organizers for the XXVI European

Kyokushin Championship.

This competition will take place on the 11-12th of May 2012 in the Pabellón de

Deportes Príncipe Felipe de Zaragoza (Spain).

The Championship will be held in Kumite (fight) weight categories, and kata (forms)

and the categories and age for kumite and kata will be as follows:

• CHILDREN 10 -11 YEARS OLD, boys and girls.

• CHILDREN 12 -13 YEARS OLD, boys and girls.

• CHILDREN 14 -15 YEARS OLD, boys and girls.

• JUNIORS 16 - 17 YEARS OLD, boys and girls.

• SENIORS over 18 YEARS OLD, men and women.

• SENIORS MASTER + 35 YEARS OLD: ONLY MEN. OPEN WEIGHT

CATEGORY.

All the categories in kumite will be divided in several weight categories according to the

rules of kumite of the European Kyokushin Federation rules, you can see them on this

bulletin as well.

2. ZARAGOZA CITY.

Zaragoza city in Spain, is situated about 300 km from Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia,

Bilbao and Toulouse (France), so it is a very important logistic point of communication

too.

It is the fifth biggest city in Spain with almost 800.000 people and not too long ago we

celebrated the international EXPO, dedicated to the water and also to the supported

development.

Zaragoza city in the middle of the two principal Spanish cities Madrid and Barcelona

Basílic of Pilar Zaragoza next to the Ebro river.

2. HOW TO GET TO ZARAGOZA.

The different possibilities to arrive in Zaragoza are explained here:

By Plane.

At this very moment, four different companies are operating at Zaragoza

International Airport: Ryanair, Air Europa, Air Nostrum and Wizz Air.

And there are permanent connecting flights with 15 destinations: 8 European

(London, Paris, Brussels, Milan, Bolonia, Rome, Cluj-Napoca and Bucarest)

and 6 National (Mallorca, Alicante, Sevilla, Santiago de Compostela, Tenerife

and Lanzarote).

There are buses and taxis to connect the airport to the centre of the city.

Trains and Buses.

Zaragoza is connected to Madrid and Barcelona, which are the main cities of

Spain, by trains and buses. Both have daily flights to main European cities and

the bullet train AVE assures your arrival in Zaragoza in less than 90 minutes.

The new train station, Zaragoza Delicias, is situated in the Almozara district, the

central bus station of the city is situated in the same building.

The urban bus CI-2 goes from this train and bus station to the Boston Hotel.

4. OFFICIAL HOTEL OF EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP: BOSTON HOTEL

The five stars Hotel Boston***** is situated in the central part of the city of

Zaragoza, and is recognized as one of the best hotels in the city. And close to

the principle streets and shopping areas, as well as financial area, and has a

very easy access to the airport and to the motorway to the other cities of Spain.

The hotel has 313 rooms and one incredible hall of 2,500 m 2.

This hotel is the nearest hotel to the Pabellón Príncipe Felipe, just 5 minutes

walk, place where the Championship will take place.

At Hotel Boston, as official hotel for the Championship, the weight in and giving

out of the passes for the officials, referees, coaches and competitors, as well as

the Referee Course and the GENERAL MEETING OF EKF will take place.

The hotel is situated on “Avenida de las Torres, 28”, 50008 Zaragoza, its

4.1 HOW TO BOOK THE HOTEL

The very special price for the hotel, only for the clients which have relationship

with this event are the following ones:

Price per person in a double bedroom: 54 € /per pe rson.

Price per person in a single bedroom: 90 € /person .

TAX AND BUFFET BREAKFAST are included into the price

The championship will last from Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th of May. Any

longer period of staying must be reserved directly at the hotel, and hotel will

keep the same prices as mentioned above.

All the reserves must be done and paid directly at the hotel, stating clearly as

attendant to the European Kyokushin Championship, via e-mail to the Booking

THE FINAL DAY TO MAKE RESERVATIONS: THE 30 TH OF MARCH 2012.

For your information: Many other important events will be happening in

Zaragoza this time of the year, so no one of the organizers or the hotel will

guarantee any free rooms available.

5. LUNCH AND SAYONARA PARTY ON SATURDAY THE 12 TH

OF MAY

The lunch for Saturday 12th is already arranged at the Restaurant MR WOK.

(situated just opposite Hotel Boston). FREE BUFFET with a huge variety of

salads, rice, fish, meat, seafood, etc, etc. The price is 14,95 €, (drinks are not

included). You must reserve the lunch beforehand the registration list attached

this bulletin and pay it directly in the restaurant.

SAYONARA PARTY

It will be held at SALA ROYAL CLUB, next to Hotel Boston. One of the best

places to go out at night. A typical Spanish menu with a great variety of tapas,

pastries, wines, beers, soft drinks and champagne.

The price is 20 euros per person. If you are interested in going, you must

reserve the sayonara beforehand the registration list attached this bulletin and

you must pay to the organizers on 10-11th of May , at Boston Hotel.

IF YOU DO NOT BUY TICKET, YOU WON´T BE ABLE TO ENTER THE

PARTY.

6. SPORT PABILLION “POLIDEPORTIVO PRÍNCIPE FELIPE”.

The Pabellón Príncipe Felipe is one of the most important sport pavilions of

Europe, can hold 11.000 spectators, many important sport events have taken

place on national, international and world levels, as well as many musical

concerts, and many other different events. In 1991 and 1998 we also celebrated

the European Kyokushin Championship here.

It is situated on Avenida Cesáreo Alierta 120, Zaragoza, only 5 minutes walking

from Hotel Boston.

Now we will show you a plan in which we are pointing out the Hotel Boston, the

PARTY will take place.

10 -11 YEARS OLD BOYS: -35 kgs., -45 kgs., +45 kgs.

12 - 13 YEARS OLD GIRLS: -45 kgs., +45 kgs.

12 - 13 YEARS OLD BOYS: -40 kgs., -50 kgs.,-60 kgs., +60 kgs.

14 - 15 YEARS OLD GIRLS: -50 kgs., +50 kgs.

14 - 15 YEARS OLD BOYS: -55 Kgs., -65 kgs., +65 kgs.

Junior GIRLS (16 - 17 YEARS OLD): -50 kgs., -60 kgs., +60 kgs.

Junior BOYS (16 - 17 YEARS OLD): -60 kgs., -70 kgs., + 70 kgs..

Senior WOMEN (+ 18 YEARS OLD). -55 kgs,. -65 kgs., +65 kgs.

HANDS FOR CHILDREN CHEST PROTECTIONS

EKF MAY PERMIT other types of protections with other logo types only if these

protections have the same level of protection and keeps similar aesthetic as the

ones homologated by KWF, and must be approved by the organizers of the

Championship.

It will be possible to buy these protections in the sport pavilion Principe Felipe.

7.3. DURATION OF THE MATCHES.

10-11 years old: 1,5 min with obligatory decision.

12-13 years old: 2 min with obligatory decision.

14-15 years old: 2 min+ 1,5 min with obligatory decision.

Junior (16-17 years old): 2 min+ 1,5 min with obligatory decision.

Senior: 2 min+2 min (weight) + 2 min with obligatory decision. On finals 3 min+

2 min (weigh) + 2 min

with obligatory decision.

Senior Master + 35 years old: 2 min+2 min (weight) + 2 min with obligatory

decision.

The weight difference of kilos to win a match must be 3 or more, in senior

categories.

If there are too many participants at the Championship, and preliminary

matches have to be done with obligatory decision, it will be communicated

before the Championship starts.

8. ABOUT KATA COMPETITIÓN

8.1. KATA CATEGORIES

10 - 11 YEARS OLD CHILDREN GIRLS.

10 - 11 YEARS OLD CHILDREN BOYS.

12 - 13 YEARS OLD CHILDREN GIRLS.

12 - 13 YEARS OLD CHILDREN BOYS.

14 - 15 YEARS OLD CHILDREN GIRLS.

14 - 15 YEARS OLD CHILDREN BOYS.

Junior GIRLS (16 - 17 YEARS OLD)

Junior BOYS (16 - 17 YEARS OLD)

Senior Women (+ 18 years old)

Senior Men (+ 18 years old)

8.2. KATAS to be done.

The competition will be held in two rounds, the four competitors of each

category who obtain the biggest points will pass to the Final.

Except in senior categories, the competitors may choose a free kata in both

rounds, except : taikyokus, sokugis, sanchin no kata, tensho, ura Katas, tekkis

and bassai.

In senior categories, on the first round, the central referee will demand the

competitor one kata among the following ones:

1st Group (Obligatory Katas):

1. YANTSU

2. TSUKI NO KATA

3. SAIHA

4. GEKSAI SHO

5. GEKSAI DAI

On the second round the competitor may choose a kata from the following list:

2d Group (Katas to be chosen by the competitors):

1. SEIENCHIN

2. KANKU DAI

3. SEIPAI

4. GARYU

5. SUSHIHO

9. GENERAL RULES CONCERNING THE COMPETITION

� Only Official format inscriptions will be accepted. Like the ones provided

by General Secretary or organizers.

� Together with this bulletin we are sending you the kumite rules for

children and junior, the kata rules, which will be the official ones for the

Championship.

� This competition is for countries; however, one organisation may

participate like such organisation or country, ej. Inside one country we

can differentiate different groups. ej. “Spain –KWF”, “Spain-

Kyokushinkan”, etc.,etc but it could be “Spain” too.

� It is obligatory to write down the name of the coach on the inscription to

be accepted. Maximum number will be 5 coaches on Friday afternoon

because our intention is to hold the competition on five tatamis. Always

counting with enough representations on the 5 different or more

categories

� On Saturday morning only 3 coaches will be permitted and in the

afternoon as it will be only 1 tatami, only one coach will be permitted.

� Each Kyokushin group from one country will be allow ed to have a

maximum of 3 competitors per category and weight.

� The organizers have the right to cancel or modify c ategories under

the circumstances of a minimum of inscriptions, and in such case it

will be announce previously.

10. INSCRIPTIONS

The límit date for inscriptions for competitors, coaches and referees is the 30th

of March 2012 . No inscription will be accepted after this date.

Each competitor must have a personal insurance, for any accident that may

occur at the competition.

The weight in and the checking of inscriptions will be done in Hotel Boston,

on Thursday 10th of May from 18:00 to 21:00 and on Friday 11th of May from

9:00 to 12:00. All the competitors, referees and officials must come together at

the same time as a group and country.

The inscription cost to participate is 25 euros per competitor.

One competitor taking part in kumite and kata has to pay 50 euros.

On the weight in you must be prepared to give the following documents:

� Parents permition (Authorization) (only for competitors under 18 years old).

� Responsability letter ( you will have to sign and fill in the document on the weight in act.).

� IDC or Passport (To check the nationality and age). � Doctor Certificate (only for kumite competitors). � Must pay the participation fee.

The organizers will give away the pass to enter the Sport Pavillion, as well as

the ticket for sayonara party on Saturday night. (only those who paid previously

to the organizers). Please remember no ticket no fiesta.

11. REFEREE

The Championship will be done by referees who can prove high experience in

International events.

Friday 11th of May , from 9:00 to 11:00, a Referee Course will take place in

Hotel Boston, in order to unify criteria for championship. Ej, how to apply rules

and others, this course will be obligatory for those who are wishing to participate

in the Championship.

The inscription fee is free, except for those who are candidates to obtain the title

of Internacional Judge or Referee given by the European Kyokushin Federation

and guaranteed by Kyokushinkai World Federation (KWF). The fee and

requirements are:

� International Judge: 50 € (must be 1st dan and National referee).

� International Referee: 75 € (must be 2nd dan and International Judge).

The official dress will be:

� Dark Blue trousers,

� Dark blue shirt with short sleeves.

� White bow tie.

12. PROVISIONAL PROGRAM

THURSDAY 10TH OF MAY 2012.

ARRIVAL of delegations and teams to the Official Hotel.

From 18:00 to 21:00: Weight in for competitors and giving out the pass to

officials, competitors, coaches and referees.

FRIDAY 11 TH OF MAY 2012

From 9:00 to 12:00 a.m.: Weight in for competitors and giving out the pass to

officials, competitors, coaches and referees.

From 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.: Referee Course.

From 11:00 to 12:30 a.m.: EKF General Meeting .

From 15:00 to 20:00: Eliminatory, semifinals and finals children kumite

(10-11 years, 12-13 years and 14-15 years) and junior kumite.

Eliminatory and finals children and junior kata.

Eliminatory senior kata.

SATURDAY 12TH OF MAY 2012.

From 9:00 to 13:00: Eliminatory senior kumite. Eliminatory, semi-final and Final

of Senior Master + 35 years old.

13:30: Lunch in WOK RESTAURANT

From 16:30 to 20:30: Semifinals senior kumite, exhibitions and kumite and kata

senior finals.

22:00: Sayonara party in THE ROYAL CLUB.
