Year 10/11: 2nd overall Adam Jones 7th, Isaac Lowe 14th, Oliver Geener 17th and George Marn 24th. Boys overall team place 2nd Oldham Schools’ Cross Country Success A big well done to all pupils who competed for school in this year’s Oldham Schools’ Cross Country Championships which were held at The Blue Coat School, Oldham Edge on the 6th December. The girls competed in the morning and the boys in the aſternoon. Overall 50 pupils took part and they all played a part in the success of the team overall results, fantasc results. Outstanding girls performances were by Ayla Hewi and Kate Leddy who placed 1st and 2nd in the year 9’s race and Daisy Shepherdson who was 2nd overall in the senior girls race. Year 7 Rugby TeamThe Saddleworth Year 7 rugby team are through to the semi final of the North West Counties competition and with this are now entered into the Carnegie Champion Schools national rd 1. They secured victory with a hard fought 8-4 scoreline against St Peters and Paul School from Widnes today in quagmire conditions. Tries from Nolan Tupaea and Jack Sinfield and a man of the match performance from Hasan Ghanem has now set up a tie against the formidable favourites for the trophy, St Peters, Wigan in what will be a battle to reach the final; a prestigious event to be staged at the Select Security Stadium in Widnes on Sat 14th January 2017.
