‘The Adventure Awaits…’

A FABULOUS Week!!

What a treat it has been this week to see our Nursery,

Reception and Year 1 and 2 children performing so beautifully.

I have had lots of lovely feedback from parents who really

appreciated the hard work and enthusiasm shown by both

staff and pupils which made the performances so special.

The week began with the very cutest of all performances

from the Nursery — The children sang quite quietly at first,

obviously a bit overwhelmed by the situation, but they soon

got into their stride and told the Christmas Story in style.

They were very clear that they didn’t want to sing ‘Away in a Manager’ more

than once though (especially Hugo!)

On Wednesday afternoon

we met at the church for

the Reception and KS1

children’s performance of

‘A Miracle in the Town’

which demonstrated how

confident even our youngest

children can be with a bit

of help from their teachers

and friends. It was clear

that all the children enjoyed

the opportunity to have

their moment of fame on the stage! The narrators spoke with

lovely clear voices and there were a few excellent comedy

moments, including Herod’s evil laugh (thank you Elis) and

Forest’s amazement at the sight of the ’’ENORMOUS’’ star in

his role as a wise man. The children looked great in their

costumes, thanks to your hard work at home. A big thank you

to all our staff but especially to Mrs Wilcox, Mrs Fairley, Mrs

Bacon and Miss Moore who made sure everything was

rehearsed and ready in time for us all to enjoy.

Christmas Dis-Glow

Thank you to everyone who came to our Christmas Dis-Glow on Monday. We hope you had a great

time! A huge thank you to all the parents who gave up their time to help too - we couldn't run this

type of event without your support. Together we raised an amazing £490 for our school, which will

be put towards the cost of hiring coaches for the recent panto trip.

Christmas Bag Pack - Sunday 22nd December

If you're shopping in Sudbury on Sunday morning, please do pop into Waitrose and support our

Christmas Bag Pack. We'll be there between 10am and 1pm, along with lots of the children and

parents from our school, helping customers to pack their Christmas shopping. Please do come and

say hello if you can.

A Christmas Farewell As you will see from the advert below, Tracy Gwynn, our caretaker has decided to

leave us in the New Year. She will be greatly missed by all of us but we wish her well and hope she will

continue to visit us. She is an important member of the Bures community and I know she will continue to be a

champion for our school even though she will no longer be here as an employee. Thank you Tracy!!

“Christmas in Bethlehem. The ancient dream: a cold, clear night made

brilliant by a glorious star, the smell of incense, shepherds and wise men

falling to their knees in adoration of the sweet baby, the incarnation of

perfect love.”
