    During WWI,Norwegians worepaper clips as a signof patriotism againstthe Nazis.

    It took the place of

    Scotch tape was inventedin 1925 by a company inMinnesota.

    (later known as 3M)

    Originally, tape was usedto separate the differentcolors on cars as they werepainted, but soon it wasrefined to have sticky glue

    all over the back and wasused by painters,carpenters, and eventuallyalmost everyone.

    The Biro Brothers

    came up with the ideato put the ink inside ofthe pen and in 1944were used by BritishAir Force pilots

    because they wouldwork at high altitudes,unlike regular inkpens.
