Its unique properties have been formed deep within the Cumbrian Fells – so it’s dramatic, beautiful and made to last. For almost two centuries, Burlington has been the stone of choice for bespoke and distinctive landscapes. Its intrinsic qualities and colours have been used to inspire iconic designs, to seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor spaces, and to bring landscapes to natural life. Now, through demand, it is also available in standard sizes to inspire your ideas, enhance your designs, and help you create indoor and outdoor spaces that are distinctively your own.

Whether you choose from our dimensional paving, tumbled stone setts or decorative aggregates, this is British material, shaped by the British landscape and by British specialists. It’s also available and realistically priced, so what could be a more natural or beautiful choice of inspiration for your landscaping ideas?

Burlington Stone represents both a statement and an investment, for today and the future.

Whatever the scale of your vision or project, you can trust Burlington Stone to truly inspire you.

Pure Lakeland water, natural weathering and mineral processes have slowly transformed the stone, lending it unique technical properties. Low water absorption means it’s colour fast, robust and easy to clean and maintain, while deep within the stone lies its true beauty waiting to be released: distinctive colour patterns, rich detail and sensitive tones and textures. It’s made in Britain, so whatever the style and whatever the weather, it complements your design – formal and informal, contemporary or classic.

Available to order in a range of pre-packaged products, and giving you an impressive choice of textures and finishes, Burlington Stone puts inspiration in your hands – and all with the short lead-times and service you’d expect from an established and quality accredited British company.

We’re also able to create bespoke solutions, in a design tailored to your size, finish and colour requirements – all straight from our Burlington quarries.

We bring 450 million years of British geology, and 170 years of quality British craftsmanship, right into the heart of your project.

Burlington Stone isn’t simply quarried. It’s lovingly crafted, using a mix of time honoured techniques and cutting-edge technology. We treat the stone with respect, and it shows in the quality of our work. Carefully removed from its environment and carried a short distance to our workshops in Cumbria, our team of engineers and specialists then set to work. Calling on traditional skills and hand crafts as well as state-of-the-art diamond saw technology, we turn beautiful raw material into a range of breath-taking natural stone products.

Available in a variety of finishes, from rough-hewn to smooth, and in a stunning range of natural pastel colours, it’s timelessly stylish, but also endlessly practical. However you choose to use Burlington Stone, you can be sure you’ll be inspired by six generations of craftsmanship and by the outstanding technical properties of this premium stone product, available from stock right now.

For those committed to the environment and ethically sourced products, what could be better? Burlington Stone is local, beautiful and available from stock, all putting accessible excellence literally at your fingertips.

COSTINGMATRIX

07 BURLINGTON STONE – LANDSCAPING

On any project, there are things you can always expect. One is that the balance of costs between product and labour largely remain constant, so buying the finest stone will have marginal impact on costs.

Cost of installation. You might expect that premium stone costs more than standard stone setts – but what you might not know is that it has little impact overall. In our experience, 75% of the cost is installation. The stone makes up just 25% of the overall project cost; a fraction of the amount for a hardwearing, long-lasting, sustainable British product – and this is just as true for our bespoke solutions as it is our standard paving products. The below graph details static and variable project costs.
