The Burnett County 4-H Leaders’ Association recently reviewed the budget for 2019 and decided that we will need to do some fundraising. So it’s a perfect time for the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation to roll out the new 4-H license plate program. Show your 4-H pride by ordering a Wis-consin 4-H license plate for the car, truck or motor home. The specialty plate, now available through the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles, supports the Wisconsin 4-H program, and bears the message “4-H Empowering Youth.” The sale of the plate includes a fee that goes to the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation. Half of the proceeds from every plate sale will go back to the county 4-H program in which the plate was purchased. The other half will be used for state and regional 4-H programs. So, for every $25 annual donation from each license plate, Burnett County 4-H will receive $12.50. That is almost as much as we make from the sale of each plat book.
“This is a great way for our 4-H families, alumni and supporters to show their fierce love of 4-H,” says Brenda Scheider, Executive Director for the Wisconsin 4-H Foun-dation.
Vehicles that qualify for the 4-H license plate in-clude:
automobiles
motor homes (annual registration only)
motor trucks ○ 4,500, 6,000 or 8,000 pounds gross weight in-
cluding dual purpose farm and dual purpose mo-tor home
○ 12,000 pounds gross weight farm truck Persons requesting 4-H Foundation license plates

OLD BUSINESS
Achievement Night was reviewed and all agreed they liked how the event flowed quick-ly and smoothly.
The group tried to recall all the ideas previ-ously discussed about the education and rec-reation ideas that were brainstormed in Sep-tember and October. Ideas include: snow tub-ing at Trollhaugen in winter, ziplining at Trollhaugen in summer, touring the Humane Society of Burnett County, planning and going on a canoe trip, ice skating or roller skating, having a bake sale to pay for some of these adventures. Grace Lahners agreed to check into ice skating in Siren, bowling in Grantsburg and will talk with Alexis Slater who
recently shared information with her club about the Humane So-ciety. We will try to vote in De-cember on a few activities after gathering more information. NO NEW BUSINESS
Meeting was adjourned (can’t remember by whom).
Beth lead the group in a team building activity using bal-loons. Team building is espe-cially important to do early in the 4-H year to create a sense of belonging. NEXT MEETING is scheduled for Sunday, December 9 at 1pm in room 165 of the Siren Gov-
ernment Center.
