This lovely home sits in an elevated position and enjoys open views of the glorious patchwork of farmland and countryside that surrounds the village. “Behind the house there’s a field, then the river
and beyond that is the golf course,” says Sharon.
“It really is a beautiful location and it has been the
most wonderful place to bring up our children.”
“It’s very open and incredibly peaceful,” adds
Andy, “but we’re not in the slightest bit isolated
here. The village has a little shop, a nice pub, a
school and a nursery which are just a stroll away.”

insightThis is a property that has a layout that is perfectly suited to busy family life. The large kitchen and dining room
has double doors that lead into a spacious and very comfortable
living room, and with those doors opened up the house has a very
open plan feel. Both the dining room and living room also have
patio doors that lead out onto a sunny patio terrace and a generous
garden beyond, so during the warmer months everyday life can flow
effortlessly between inside and out.

“We also have a large sitting room upstairs,” says Sharon,
“which has huge windows facing both front and back, so the views
are absolutely magnificent. We treat it like a master suite, because
it’s next to the bedroom. We mostly spend the day downstairs, then
it’s a nice place to retreat to in the evening and to relax after we
have had supper.”

The first thing we do every morning is to look out of the window to take in the view, assess the weather (being west facing you
nearly always see what weather is heading your way), and check out the wildlife. Everyday there is something different and of course it’s lovely to
see the seasons change across the landscape.” “What will we miss most about living at The Highlands? I’d say that the main aspects would be the
location and those stunning views,” says Andy. “This has been a very special place to call home and it has given us a really wonderful quality of life.”
