DESCRIPTION
A few weeks ago I asked a public question at a Hobart City Council meeting about the implications of megafires for Hobart (as seen in the recent Catalyst documentary Earth on Fire). The program barely raised a murmur of concern from our aldermen, despite revealing that the suburbs of Hobart could be engulfed on a day of severe Fire Danger Index - even if all of the available fuel had been reduced by control burns.
