The WFF is integrally located in one of the Nations’ most strategic concentrations of military and aerospace industrial activities. This location is also strategic for both DoD and NASA for access to space for two reasons. First WFF’s restricted airspace adjoining the military’s Atlantic operations area, VACAPES making the area a critical National asset for the test and operation of a wide variety of developmental and operational space vehicles. Secondly, the WFF is sited in one of the few locations in CONUS where approximately 63 miles of Atlantic coastline federal or preservation owned property that makes WFF’s operational areas relatively free from the encroachment concerns faced by the Nation ’s other two major launch ranges.

Opportunities• NASA Receives 2-5 New Business Opportunity Calls Each Week

– Many are Related to Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)/UAS and Launch Projects

• Virginia/Maryland Strong Team Bid for National UAS Test Site– All Commercial Components are Likely WRP Tenants– NASA Cannot Accommodate All Small UAV Requests Today, Great WRP Business

Opportunity

• As Soon as Antares Flies, Additional Non-Commercial Resupply (CRS) Missions Likely for MARS and Wallops

• NASA Will Not Compete with the Private Sector– Prefers to Support Only US Government Agencies with Unique NASA Technical

Capabilities

• Commercial Entities Shall be Directed to the WRP

• All Interests for Office Space, Staging, and Storage (Non-Unique NASA Capabilities ) Shall be Directed to the WRP for All Entities
