Lethbridge College offers programs in business, computer information technology and office administration that take
students from classrooms to practicum placements and then on to great jobs in a diverse range of fields.
As a graduate of our business programs, you will join an impressive group of alumni. Here are just a few putting their

• Troy Maddaford (Computer Information Technology 2001) brought his IT knowledge from the college to the Lethbridge
Public Library and now works as Manager of IT Services.
• Robin Ross (Business Administration 1992) worked his way up from a part-time, entry-level position at Lethbridge’s
Costco to Senior Director of Corporate Marketing at Costco’s U.S. headquarters.
• Krista Albers (Business Administration 2006) has travelled the world and works today as a Assistant Buyer at Nike
Sportswear and Nike Lab.
• Carmen Hellawell (Administrative Office Professional 1997) works today as the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Police
at Lethbridge Regional Services.

Today’s business workplace relies increasingly on highly skilled individuals
to ensure that administrative tasks are handled efficiently and effectively.
Lethbridge College’s versatile Administrative Office Professional program gives you the skills
you will need to succeed in a wide range of business, educational, government, and not for
profit organizations. Gain practical knowledge and skills in bookkeeping, office procedures,
project management, conference planning and more in just eight to 12 months. You will
use industry-standard software as you work on your own laptop in small classes taught by
experienced instructors who incorporate group work and simulate a real office environment.
Close to 100 per cent of our graduates find employment and indicate that the opportunities
are waiting, choices of employers are plentiful, and the work is challenging and rewarding.
After graduation, you will be able to demonstrate advanced-level skills in basic office tasks,
think critically, evaluate situations, solve problems, make decisions and demonstrate the
application of administrative professional skills in a business setting.

Our Business Administration program is your path to a career in a wide variety of organizations.
Your first year will allow you to acquire basic business skills in courses including accounting, marketing,
management, business law, economics, entrepreneurship, communication and business computer
applications. Our students develop their ability to motivate and lead others, work with all types of people and
communicate effectively.
Once you’ve completed a common first year, you’ll gain advanced knowledge in a specialization of your choice:
• Accounting
• Management
• Marketing
• General Business
You will add to your experience through case studies of real-world, challenging business situations, working
with classmates and your instructors to develop solutions. In addition, students have the opportunity to
participate in international exchanges.
When you graduate, you’ll be well equipped with a range of skills to enable you to step into a career right out
of college. And, if what you’ve learned at that point has you craving additional business education, you can
continue that path into one of several university programs, through either a 2+2 agreement or course-by-
course transfers.

Information technology professionals are the “mechanics” who keep the wheels
turning behind the scenes in business. If you think logically and analytically, pay attention
to detail and are able to quickly adapt to change, the IT world needs you. We constantly receive
requests from companies looking to hire our IT grads. With our two-year diploma program in
Computer Information Technology, you’ll get the grounding you need for a wide variety of careers,
including ones in software and website development, e-commerce administration, internet security
or IT management.
You’ll also take courses in business and communications, so you can understand how best to
serve the companies who count on your talents. During our Canadian Information Processing
Society accredited program, you’ll learn how information systems actually work and show off
your knowledge and skills with the practical projects we’ll have you working on.
With experience in multiple development environments, including open source, you will be well
equipped to enter the IT world. Additionally, you’ll spend 200 hours at a workplace of your
choice, applying your training and impressing your supervisors with your innovative solutions.
You’ll come away with skills you can use immediately in an in-demand industry.
