Principal’s Welcome

Are you someone who thrives on change, with an ability to lead others in a dynamic work environment? Do you have outstanding business leadership capabilities, with a desire to utilise your gifts and skills to help drive the creation of something new, student centred and innovative?

I would like to thank you for expressing an interest in the role of Business Manager at Faith Lutheran College. The College is seeking to appoint an experienced and future focused business leader, who will lead our team of committed and passionate business, accounts and school support officers.

It is my vision that Faith becomes a truly innovative and contemporary educational institution that will lead the way forward for a new way of learning. This relentless desire to achieve this goal has resulted in Faith becoming a finalist in 2021 for Secondary School of the Year (Non-Government) in the Australian Education Awards. This remarkable achievement demonstrates the collective desire in our staff to be the best we can in service to our students. Situated in the expanding regional community of Plainland, our College and the surrounding area is experiencing a time of unprecedented growth. Enrolments are growing year-on-year, with a number of plans to expand the College footprint both in terms of infastructure and with regard to our impact and influence within the educational landscape of the Ipswich/Lockyer Valley region.

I believe that school, as it is today, does not serve the interests of many young people, and my vision for Faith Lutheran College is to be an educational institution that is able and willing to take positive, well-informed risks, in order to serve as the inspiration for broader educational reform and change.

We need schools, and operational structures that value our students, and we need leaders that are willing to do what it takes to make this a reality.

Are you that leader? Are you someone who thrives on change and a dynamic work environment? Do you want to play a key role in leading, supporting and facilitating the creation of something new, student-centred and innovative?

Are you our next Business Manager?

I invite you to read this information pack. Explore our school and what it stands for and give me the opportunity to show you our vision for the future of education here at Faith Lutheran College.

Thank you for taking the time to explore the exciting opportunity we have on our Executive Team, and I sincerely look forward to receiving your application for the role.

About Faith Lutheran College

Faith Lutheran College is a co-educational Secondary school situated within the expanding rural community of Plainland, mid-way between Ipswich and Toowoomba in South-East Queensland.

Providing educational opportunities for students from Year 7 to Year 12, and purpose-built to cater for education across the Lockyer Valley and Greater Western Brisbane regions, our campus footprint encompasses 70 acres of land, and boasts an extensive range of facilities, designed to support a diverse curriculum of teaching and learning.

A Lutheran School, with a focus on high quality teaching and learning, and an emphasis on Christian community, Faith prides itself on a reputation for student agency, and the provision of well-established future pathways that cater to, and serve to unlock the potential of, each individual learner.

Unique among the surrounding educational landscape, Faith values and respects the individual learning journey. We provide a vibrant and authentic education that expands vocational horizons for young people, whether this leads to further study at University, additional tertiary learning through TAFE and technical colleges, training for trades through apprenticeships and traineeships, or alternative pathways that lead directly into the workforce.

Beginning from an initial cohort of 40 learners in 1999, the College has grown to accommodate more than 750 students, with substantial year-on-year growth projected into the future. Buoyed by both population increases across the region, and a renewed focus on innovation and contemporary learning, Faith Lutheran College sits at the beginning of an exciting new chapter in its operation – with a vision that will elevate the College and its offerings to the forefront of educational practice.

Committed to the pursuit of excellence, and perennially striving to embed research, data and innovation into educational practice, Faith Lutheran College is a dynamic and forward-focused teaching and learning community, where both staff and students are engaged, empowered, and equipped for lifelong learning.
