Business (Marketing) Cambridge Technical Level 3 Diploma Examination Board: OCR This is a two year course with the equivalent value of two A Levels. (There is also an option to take the Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate which is a smaller qualification equivalent to one A Level in one year). This qualification has been developed to meet the changing needs of the sector, and to prepare students for the challenges they’ll face in Higher Education or employment. It focuses on the skills, knowledge and understanding that today’s universities and employers demand. Students will practically apply their skills and knowledge in preparation for further study or the workplace. The business world places a high value on the ability to research, analyse and evaluate information in order to make considered decisions and students will have the opportunity to gain these vital skills. Alongside this they will develop practical employability skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, and to manage their time effectively. Assessment: The course consists of ten units. Four of these units will be assessed through external examinations which will be available in both January and June. The remaining six units will be internally assessed and externally moderated. The qualification will be graded as Pass, Merit, Distinction and Distinction*. Units are as follows: The Business Environment* Working in Business* Business Decisions* Customers and Communication Marketing and Market Research Marketing Strategy Marketing Campaign Change Management* Principles of Project Management Delivering a Business Project *Externally assessed Careers and Study Progression: This qualification will allow students to progress onto degree programmes such as Marketing or Business and Marketing as well as non-related degree programmes. It also prepares them to take up employment in business where they could be employed in roles such as Marketing Administrator, Market Research Analyst, Digital Marketing Assistant or Public Relations Officer.
