Proposed Process for Fiber Development

Butler County Receives Funds

• Fiber lease agreements with telecom firms are required where Development Projects in the County have a Development Agreement with the Developer that specifies required utilization of the County fiber strands with the Butler County Port Authority as the owner/manager of the fiber optic network ring strands.

• The BCPA would request bids from telecom firms to provide data, phone, internet and related services.

• A strand lease fee would be negotiated with the telecom firm selected.
