Regional Centre Jaipur is working closely with DAVP, Ministry of Information Technology for popularization of the programmes of IGNOU among the masses. In the field of health education we are working with Directorate of Health for capacity building of working nurses and Aruvedic doctors of Rajasthan. Effective and efficient use of technology is the strength of Regional Centre Jaipur for addressing the grievances of students and strengthening learner support centers located in all districts. CONFERENCE:

A one day Regional Conference of Co-ordinators was

held at Udaipur for Regional Centre, Jodhpur and

Regional Centre Jaipur. It was an important

conference for strengthening implementation of

activities of the university in the region and giving

opportunities to field functionaries to share their

experiences, concerns and challenges in the region.

Prof. J.P. Sharma, Chief Guest of the inaugural session

addressed the participants and appreciated the

contribution of IGNOU for having an inclusive

education society in the country. Prof. Sharma

focused on typical social issues for different societies

in the state and expects IGNOU to come out with short

term academic programmes on those social issues to

improve social life of disadvantaged and marginalized

sections of the society. Prof. Sharma focused on co-

operative and collaborative mode of implementation

of programmes of IGNOU with formal universities

and institutions to ensure better rich and quality of

implementation. Initiatives of IGNOU for Jail

inmates/ housewives and other disadvantaged

sections were appreciated by the Hon'ble Chief Guest,

Prof. Sharma. He appealed the participants to be

proactive for better implementation of programmes in

inaccessible areas.

Dr. V. Venugopal Reddy, Director, Regional Services

Division (RSD) emphasized on implementation of

Regional specific programmes for implementation in

each region, Special study centres for disadvantaged /

marginalized / deprived section of the society to

e n s u r e t h e i r c o n t r i b u t i o n t o h a v e

an inclusive education society. Dr. Reddy highlighted

reforms of university through digitalization in

operational activities including, making the

GYANVANI and GYAN DARSHAN CHANNELS

functional for providing better educational

opportunities to all sections of the society. He also

focused on establishment of Digital Learning Centre

(DLC), its importance and relevance in the present

context and explained how University is planning to

use F.M. Stations as Digital Learning Centres. Major

focus of Dr. Reddy was on ICT based integration for

reaching the unreached and providing free computer

literacy education to all in the region though IGNOU.

EXHIBITION OF RC JAIPUR AT REGIONAL

Exhibition was organized at the venue of the Regional th

conference at Udaipur on 30 April 2017 with an

objective to display of various activities, important

features of ODL system and academic contribution of

academics of RC Jaipur.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest

Prof. J. P. Sharma, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Mohanlal

Sukhadiya University, Udaipur and Dr. V. Venugopal

Reddy Director, Regional Services Division (RSD).

Dr. Hema Pant Dy. Director from RSD, Dr. Mamta

Bhatia, Regional Director RC Jodhpur and Dr. M. K.

Dash, Regional Director, RC Jaipur were also present

on the occasion.

A poster presentation was also made where recent

academic contributions of academics in publication of

journals and publication of books in the areas of their

discipline and on ODL system were shown as an

important part of exhibition. The exhibition and

poster presentation was a means to share the

experiences of two RCs and a means of identifying

points for further discussion and interaction in various

sessions of conference.

AWARD OF GOLD MEDAL TO IGNOU RC

JAIPUR: Dr. Venugopal Reddy, Director, RSD

announced the GOLD MEDAL awarded to RC Jaipur th

in the 30 Convocation for Best Services. He

requested the Chief Guest to present the award to Dr.

M. K. Dash, Regional Director, Regional Centre

Jaipur. Regional Director Dr. Dash thanked the

university authorities for recognising the activities of

RC Jaipur and viewed that this is result of contribution

of all staff members of RC in last three years.

Visit of Regional Director RC Nagpur: IGNOU RC

Jaipur welcomed Dr. P. Sivaswaroop, Regional

Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Nagpur who

visited RC Jaipur on 12.05.2017. Dr. Sivaswaroop

discussed and interacted with staff members of RC

Jaipur and explained various new development and

new initiatives of the university, being a Member of

Board of Management of IGNOU. He also discussed

about the activities being taken up in RC Nagpur for

promotion and publicity of IGNOU programmes in

remote and tribal areas in Nagpur. Discussion was

interactive and participatory. Staff of RC Jaipur

thoroughly enjoyed having an open session with Dr.

Sivaswaroop.

Visit of Sh. G. Ashok, Asst. Registrar, RC

Hyderabad: An interactive session was organized

with all staff of RC Jaipur and Sh. G. Ashok, Asst.

Registrar, RC Hyderabad on 16th June 2017 at 3PM in

the Conference Room of RC Jaipur. Regional Director

introduced Mr. G. Ashok with the staff members

followed by a self introduction of staff members. Sh.

Ashok explained his visit to RC Jaipur and visit to

different examination centres of RC Jaipur with his

overall observations on the conduct of TEEs in

various examination centres under the jurisdiction of

RC Jaipur. It was a good learning experience for

improving the system with mutual discussion and

interaction. Regional Director appreciated the

initiatives and efforts of Sh. Ashok in meticulous

observations of TEE Centres.

Awareness camp on abolitation of Child Marriage:

IGNOU RC Jaipur organized an awareness camp in

collaboration with Regional office of the Ministry of

Information & Communication on eradication of

child marriage at BABDE Grampanchyat, Bhilwara th

district on 28 April 2017. Ms. Asha Berwa, Mandal

Pradhan was the chief guest of the function

categorically focused on expansion of educational

opportunities for all. The programme was participated

by villagers of BABDE Grampanchyat and members

of local self government. Local community members

expressed their interest for providing educational

opportunities to masses through IGNOU. Sh Kamlesh

Meena, Asst. Regional Director from RC Jaipur co-

ordinated the activity and addressed the villagers on

various programmes of IGNOU and their relevance

for social development.

Gram Sabha at Bamniya Atal Seva Kendra,

Chittorgarh District: IGNOU Regional Centre

Jaipur organized a community development

programme at Bamniya Atal Seva Kendra of thChittorgarh district on 29 April 2017. The

programme aimed at developing awareness in youth

about education, educational opportunities and role of

IGNOU in providing quali ty education to

marginalized sections of the society. Dr. Goutam

Kukda, Co-ordinator of IGNOU SC at Maharana

Pratap Govt. P.G. College addressed the audience and

explained the role of IGNOU Study Centre in the

district and emphasized on empowerment of youth

through various socially relevant programmes of

IGNOU. Sh. Kamlesh Meena, Asst. Regional

Director, IGNOU RC Jaipur co-ordinated the

programme and appealed the villagers for wider

dissemination of IGNOU programmes for providing

them a platform to learn.

Women Empowerment & Social Development:

IGNOU Regional Centre Jaipur organized a

programme on Women Empowerment & Social

Development at Khedla Grampanchyat of Dousa th

District on 14 June 2017 in collaboration with

Universal College, Khelda. Principals of Sr.

Secondary schools, teachers and representation of

Khedla Grampanchyat Samiti and vil lages

participated in the programme. Ms. Neha Singh,

Sarpanch, Khedla Grampanchyat addressed the

participants and assured expansion of educational

rdCELEBRATION OF 3 INTERNATIONAL

YOGA DAY: IGNOU RC JAIPUR CELEBRATED

3rd INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY on 21st June

2017 (Wednesday) with ALL STAFF MEMBERS OF

R C J A I P U R a n d L O C A L C O M M U N I T Y

MEMBERS at NIRBHAYA PARK (close to RC

office) from 06:30 AM-08:30 AM. The Programme

was organized by RC Jaipur with support and Co-

o p e r a t i o n f r o m t h e N I R B H AYA PA R K

COMMITTEE with an objective to work close with

the society and community members all around for

better awareness and better reach of IGNOU RC

Jaipur with the masses. Series of activities were

organized in different days such as 1) Interactive

Session on YOGA FOR LIFE- 19th June 2017. Dr.

Manjula Bhati & Sh. Rakesh Sharma addressed and

interacted with staff of RC Jaipur. 2) Demonstration

Session on YOGA: A MEANS OF HEALTHY LIFE-

20th June 2016 at 11 AM .

Ms. Prem Gupta took the session and demonstrated

various activities and explained their relevance to

participants. 3) Practice Session on YOGA AS

SPIRITUAL POWER- 21st June 2017 from 6 AM-8

PM. Dr. M. L. Yadav, Yoga expert was the Chief

Guest. Dr. Yadav with Ms. Premlata & her Team from

Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Jaipur Branch took the session

and explained the participants what, how and why

aspects of yoga in our day to day life.

MEETING OF THE CO-ORDINATORS OF JAIPUR BASED REGULAR STUDY CENTRES

A meeting of the Co-ordinator's of Jaipur based local Regular Study Centres was held at RC Jaipur on 08.06.2017 at 10:00 AM. Co-ordinator's from 5 SCs-SC23115, 23144, 23140, 23142 & 23150 participated in the Meeting to discuss strategies and initiatives being taken by them for admission to July 2017 session.

PARTICIPATION OF RC JAIPUR IN DAVP EXHIBITION: Directorate of Audio Visual Programme, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting organized a one week exhibition at Information Centre, Jaipur from 07.06.2017 to 11.06.2017. IGNOU Regional Centre Jaipur participated in the

exhibition with 22 other departments of Govt. of Rajasthan. IGNOU RC Jaipur displayed promotional materials, programme guide and important study materials for wider dissemination to public in the

exhibition. Dr. Rammurti Meena, Asst. Regional Director with Sh. M. K. Meena, Assistant co-ordinated the programme. RC Jaipur participated in the DAVP exhibition being organized for 7 days at Information Centre, Govt. of Rajasthan along with all other Departments of Govt. of Rajasthan.

A N E W I N I T I AT I V E : C E RT I F I C AT E PROGRAMMES OF IGNOU FOR SKILL D E V E L O P M E N T & E N H A N C I N G EMPLOYABILITY- RC Jaipur initiated a project with Directorate of Higher Education, Govt. of Rajasthan to implement certificate programmes of IGNOU for Bachelors and Masters students in all Govt. UG & PG Colleges of Rajasthan. This is an unique initiative to provide exposure to youth during their Bachelors/Masters degree programme. Regional Director Dr. M. K. Dash said UG & PG students will learn to develop understanding in a particular area of their choice. This will ultimately help them to enhance the i r employabi l i ty in the wor ld marke t . Commissioner College Education Govt. of Rajasthan Mr. Ashutosh A.T. Pednekar took the lead and assured to make this project a model in the state in the area of skill development of college students. Regional Centre Jaipur is ready to extend all support & co-operation in this initiative for its effective and efficient implementation in the region. Series of meetings are being held between the IGNOU Regional Centre and Commissionerate Dept. of Higher Education for finalizing the modalities of implementation.

inmates on various programmes of IGNOU and

various aspects of educational opportunities for jail

inmates. During the programme, Jail authorities

explained how jail inmates are given education in 13

different jails under Regional Centre Jaipur. The

provision of having a special study centre in jail was

also explained to jail administration. A question

answer session was organized with jail inmates to

address to their queries on various programmes of

IGNOU and admission process to programmes &

academic deliberations. Inmates were found to be

motivated towards certificate, diploma & BPP

programme.

INTERACTIVE SESSION AT RAJASTHAN

POLICE ACADEMY: Dr. M. K. Dash Regional

Director, IGNOU Regional Centre addressed the

trainees of RAJASTHAN POLICE ACADEMY on

2nd June 2017 on various aspects of career

development and programmes of IGNOU leading to

professional development of police professionals.

The session was organized with an objective to give

exposure to young trainees about different dimensions

of carrier development, certificate/diploma

programmes for professional development and

competency development for self updation &

upgradation. The session was interactive and

participatory followed by a question answer session to

address the queries of participants.

Sh. Rajeev Dasoth, Director, RAJASTHAN POLICE

ACADEMY addressed the participants and focused

on continuous lifelong learning for self development

as an option for professional development of every

individual in all professions. He assured to have a

network with IGNOU for providing educational

opportunities to police professionals of Rajasthan.

INTERACTIVE SESSION WITH STUDENTS

OF AZAD ITI COLLEGE: A promotional meeting

was organized at Azad ITI College, Chitwari, Chomu

on 10th June, 2017. Sh. M. K. Meena, Asst. addressed

the students and explained various programmes of

IGNOU and online admission process. About 150

students participated in the programme and interacted

through a question answer session. The objective was

to promote the programmes of IGNOU in rural and

remote areas for disadvantaged & deprived section.

EXTENDED CONTACT PROGRAMME OF

PGDSLM PROGRAMME: The Extended Contact

Programme (ECP) of Post Graduate Programme on

School Leadership and Management (PGDSLM) was

organized at IGNOU Regional Centre Jaipur from

22nd to 25th May 2017. 10 participants participated in

the ECP. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr.

Indu Ravi, Asst. Regional Director, RC Jaipur. 11

Resource Persons were invited for 17 session. Dr. M.

K. Dash, Regional Director in his address to the

learners asked their expectations about the

programme. A number of sessions on Open distance

learning, How important it is to know our learners,

Professionalism in teaching, transformational

leadership and quality in school educational and inter-

personal processes and teaching learning, Partnership

of schools with social agencies, Putting into practices

principals of financial management, preparing of

budget for school and school development plan were

organised. Each day started with a report of the

previous day and Thought for the day. Psychological

aspects of Managing role stress and Managing

conflict, Making schools inclusive and Multicultural

and pluristic schools were also taken by well qualified

and experienced academics. Valedictory session was

organized in which participants gave their Feedback.

EXTENDED CONTACT PROGRAMME FOR

PGDHE PROGRAMME: The Extended Contact

Programme (ECP) of Post Graduate Programme in

Higher Education (PGDHE) was organized at

IGNOU Regional Centre Jaipur from 22nd to 31st

May 2017. 08 participants participated in the ECP out

of which 1 participant was from RC Ahemdabad, 1

from RC Jodhpur and 6 from RC Jaipur. The

programme was co-ordinated by Dr. Indu Ravi, Asst.

Regional Director, RC Jaipur. 18 Resource Persons

were invited for 38 sessions and all the Resource

persons were highly experienced senior Professors in

different areas. The first day started with the

Introductory session in which all participants gave

their introduction along with the Asst. Regional

Director and Regional Director, IGNOU RC Jaipur.

Dr. M.K. Dash, Regional Director addressed the

learners and informed about the programme.

Throughout the 10 days of ECP sessions on ODL

system, higher education policy and on How

important i t i s to know our learners and

Professionalism, Policies in Higher education and

RUSA, Changing role of UGC, Lectures on

Psychological expects of teacher as a counselor and

Classroom management were organised. Senior Retd.

Professors and Experts from different fields took

sessions. Each day started with a report of the previous

day and a thought for the day. A visit was organized to a

higher education institution, Central Library, University of

Rajasthan, Jaipur during the ECP. The learners were also

asked to submit activities assigned to them by the Resource

persons and give presentations followed by discussions.

Audio-Video CDs related to higher education and ODL

system and PGDHE were shown to the participants during

the 10 days of ECP Programme. In the valedictory session

feedback was taken from the participants and certificates

were distributed.

CHBHC PRACTICAL SESSIONS AT PSC2381

FORTIS ESCORT HOSPITAL, JAIPUR: Certificate in

Home Based Health Care programme is implemented first

time under RC Jaipur in January 2017 session with

admission of 30 students. The induction meeting was

organized on 16.04.2017 The learners were informed about

the study centre by the Programme Incharge, Dr. Nihar

Bhatia and information about assignments, exam forms,

online details were given to all learners. Practical sessions

were organized in the month of May. All sessions were

monitored by the officials of RC Jaipur. Students were

found to be confident and motivated towards the end of

practical sessions. Director of the hospital addressed the

students and motivated them to contribute to the society

and proof them to be an asset for the society in the field of

health sector in our country.

INDUCTION PROGRAMME FOR PG DIPLOMA IN

HOSPITALITY AND HEALTH MANAGEMENT

PROGRAMME: The programme was organized on

05.06.2017 at PSC 2381 Fortis Escort Hospital Jaipur

with 30 learners. The learners were informed about

the counseling schedule, information about

assignments, exam and other basic requirements

including online facilities of the university for various

activities. Dr. Indu Ravi, Assistant Regional Director,

explained them about the University, its objectives,

the various courses offered by them and its

achievement. Dr. M. K. Dash, Regional Director

welcomed the participants & highlighted about the

rising need for hospital management professionals

including the roles of learners and Programme study

centre during the programme period. Director of the

hospital guided the learners to enhance their

competency with self determination and self

motivation, utilizing the resources the hospital during

the programme.

Farewell Function: Sh. Kamlesh Meena, Asst. st

Regional Director was relieved from RC Jaipur on 31

May 2017 to enable him to join at RC Khanna. Sh th

Meena joined RC Jaipur on 5 Nov. 2012 and

contributed significantly for expansion of

educational opportunities in terms of establishment of

LSCs, strengthening operational activities of LSCs,

organizing activities in gramsabha for overall

development of people in the society. His strength

was co-ordination with media for wider coverage and

dissemination of various activities of the Regional

Centre. RC Jaipur wished all success of Sh. Meena in

his new assignment at RC Khanna.
