What is a graphic?A graphic is an image that helps you understand the written information in a
text.Some will have captions.
A caption is a small amount of text that is explaining what is
shown in the graphic. For example in social Studies
some captions you will find is about what’s in Maps,Pictures,
and Timelines.
A picture gives you a visual representation of what something looks like. For example in a book there is a picture. But it is also
called in illustration.
A map is a drawing of a location.It can be a map of
your city or a map on a brochure about where
everything is.
A timeline is a list of events organized by the dates in which they happened in.
A flowchart shows the sequence of events. Many
scientists use this very often.
A diagram is a drawing with labels. It helps show what
something is. It can also provide extra information that isn’t in the
text.
A table is a chart that shows information in columns and rows.
They can quickly summarize information.
What is Steps in a Process.Steps in a Process is to explain to a
reader is how something is done.
Multistep instructions is to tell a reader how to make or do something
that contains more than 2 steps.
What is a Character? A character is a person, animal,
or thing in a story. For example: Andy said “Wait up!” He has a role in the story so he is a character.
What is a plot? A plot is a sequence of events in a story.
What is a conflict?A conflict is a problem(s) in a story. A story can have several conflicts.
What is a Main Character? A main character is the character the writer focuses on the most of all the characters. And if it is in 1st person point of view. The person telling the story is usually the main Character.
