Pole BarnBy: Caleb VanderWal
Step 1
Mix cement Dig hole at least 24” into the ground Poor cement in ground with poles Wait 2-3 days (if you don’t wait that
long you run risk of the whole barn getting knocked down)
Step 2
Even out the heights of the boards Use a laser level to mark off the tops
at the same height
Step 3
Place the horizontal post beams Cut notches into the board to make
putting them on easier. Hardest of the beams to put up Use your level to make sure they are
level to the ground Secure with screws to make sure
they are stable
Step 4
Build the trusts Need a board that runs parallel to the
ground and two additional boards that meet in the center at an angle
Measure the board to fit the board in step three and then choose the angle at which you want the board
Put notches into the boards on step 3 where you want your trusts laying.
Step 5
Add additional beams for support Theses will be your support for your
roof Be sure to use a level to make sure
they are perpendicular to the boards they are close to
At least one additional board should be placed on each section
Step 6
Add the sidings Take your ply-wood and cut it to size Nail it to the support boards on the
outside edge
Step 7
Add the roof If it is metal you will need to cut
them to fit Install them by taping the screws in
over the struts.
