Some folks are born made to wave the flag, ooh, they're red, white and blue. And when the band plays "Hail To The Chief",oh, they point the cannon at you, Lord,

It ain't me, it ain't me,I ain't no senator's son,It ain't me, it ain't me,I ain't no fortunate one, no,

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand,Lord, don't they help themselves? oh.But when the taxman come to the door,Lord, the house look a like a rummage sale, yes,

It ain't me, it ain't me,I ain't no millionaire's son, no, no.It ain't me, it ain't me,I ain't no fortunate one, no.

In the later 1960s and early 1970s CCR released its first rock album. There was a build on complex progressive rock. Creedence Clearwater Revival did no participate in these mainstreams. They cut a series of classic three-minute songs featuring singer-songwriter John Fogerty's rough and riveting vocals. As the most successful and exciting band in the US during that time, their rock was straightforward and John Fogerty has since gone on to a chart-topping solo career. Born in Berkeley, CA, Fogerty and his brother Tom organized the band. The multi talented Fogerty began his musical path while still in middle school in El Cerrito, California. He joined with fellow students Stu Cook and Doug Clifford to form a group called the Blue Velvets. They later added Fogerty's older brother Tom, and performed in the San Francisco Bay location. The young men also made a few recordings on small local labels such as Kristy and Orchestra, but these efforts did not sell. In 1964, the Blue Velvets landed a contract with Fantasy Records in nearby Berkeley. A year later the group had changed its name to the Golliwogs, but they were still unable to craft a good selling record. Fantasy lost interest in them, and the band recorded a few tracks for the local Scorpio record label. Eventually, famous label chief Saul Zaentz encouraged the Golliwogs to re-sign, but to find a better name. Then, in 1968 they were re-named Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Is a source mainly associated with the U.S. President. Its playing accompanies the appearance of the President at many public appearances. For major official occasions, the U.S. Marine Band and other military ensembles generally are the performers, so directives of the United States Department of Defense have since 1954 controlled the main basis for according it official status.

Song lyrics driven by the draft, and the support for those with fewer options fighting a far off battle. The apparent impact the Vietnam War had on people who were drafted unwillfully into the war. What John Fogerty is saying is as people were drafted into the war, it was almost as if someone was directly pointing a cannon at you, a destined death.

“Some Folks are born to wave the flag.” This is a reference to people in the government of political status. People who were very patriotic and had a lot of pride for the country. These people are also people who were interested in the military, people who had a desire to go to war and fight for the country. John Fogerty is saying that as the draft is going on he does not want to be one of these people.

Synonymous with wealth, especially inherited wealth; someone born into a wealthy family is said to have "been born with a silver spoon in his mouth". He goes on to say “Lord, Don’t they Help Themselves.” Hes saying hes angry because the lower class people are being drafted and not evenly the richer people as well.

This is a term referring to the patriotic people during that time. The government would “send them down to war”. John is almost repeating himself contrasted to “Born To Wave The Flag” He wants people to know that he is not a person with the desire to be in the war.

Referring to the government during that time taking more and more of the peoples money. Most likely higher taxes during the Vietnam war. As early as 1965, Lyndon Johnson's money advisers were worried about the constant heating of the economy, so they recommended a tax increase to help pay for the expensive war and to push back inflation. The more war, the more money.
