Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller15 September 1890- 12 January 1976

 was a British crime writer of novels, short stories, and plays. She also wrote romances under the name Mary Westmacott, but she is best remembered for her 66 detective novels and more than 15 short story collections

CHARLES DICKENS

7 February 1812- 9 June 1870 Charles Dickens is a famous English writer. People all over the world enjoy his stories.

One of them is Oliver Twist, the story of a poor boy in Victorian times. His first big success was The Pickwick Papers. Of his many books, Dickens liked David Copperfield best. In 1843, Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol. It is one of his most famous stories.

Dickens and his wife had 10 children. But their marriage was not happy. In 1858, they split up.

SCIENTISTS Isaac Newton (25 December 1642-20

March 1727 Isaac Newton was a mathematician and

scientist who invented differential calculus and formulated the theory of universal gravitation, a theory about the nature of light, and three laws of motion.

Newton never married, and no evidence has been uncovered that he had any romantic relationship

Charles Robert Darwin-12 February 1809-19 April 1882

Charles Darwin was a British naturalist of the nineteenth century. He and others developed the theory of evolution. This theory forms the basis for the modern life sciences. Darwin's most famous books are 'The Origin of Species' and 'The Descent of Man'. Darwin worked on his theory for 20 years. He has 10 children with his wife and cousin Emma Wedgwood.

Charles Spencer Chaplin 16 April 1889-25 December 1977)

was an English comic actor, film director and composer best known for his work in the United States during the silent film era. He became the most famous film star in the world before the end of World War I. Chaplin used mime, slapstick and other visual comedy routines, and continued well into the era of the talkies, though his films decreased in frequency from the end of the 1920s. His most famous role was that of The Tramp. 

MUSIC The Beatles were an English rock band

formed in Liverpool in 1960. They became the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed act in the history of popular music. Their best-known lineup consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. In the early 1960s, their enormous popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania"

Captain James Cook  7 November 1728- 14 February 1779

James Cook was an explorer of the eighteenth century, known for his voyages to the Pacific Ocean. Cook visited New Zealand, established the first European colony in Australia, and was the first European to visit Hawaii. He also approached Antarctica and explored much of the western coast of North America.

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill (30 November 1874 – 24 January 1965)  Winston Churchill was a politician, a soldier,

an artist, and the 20th century's most famous and celebrated Prime Minister.

People remember Churchill as a war leader. But he did other important jobs in a long life full of adventures. Winston Churchill loved history and in his life he made history.

Churchill received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953 for his numerous published works, especially his six-volume set The Second World War.
