Models who are also community leaders rocked the runway at LittleBig GlamSlam, a fashion show at Bahia Mar benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward. Models competed for
the titles of Woman on the Verge, scooped up by Diana Hanford of Pierson Grant Public Relations, and Man on the Edge, snagged by Derek Cooper of Comcast. Little Brothers and Sisters ages seven to 17 walked with adult models.
Members of the youth dance troupe Heroes of Hip Hop gave an energizing performance, and WPLG Local 10 reporter Kristi Krueger was master of ceremonies. Traci Miller of Miller Construction and Cindy Schutt, principal of Cindy Schutt PR, chaired the event that earned $67,000.
Angels for Angels
Never heard of Angelman Syndrome? Neither had Coral Springs residents Eslin and Matt Guice, until their infant daughter Gianna was diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder that causes intellectual disabilities and problems with motor coordination. Eslin and her sister, Erin Cain, chaired Angels for Angels, a beautifully done gala at the W Hotel, to raise awareness.

Each year, the luncheon that follows draws hundreds of guests as it honors Latina leaders and raises funds for Light of the World Clinic, which provides free medical care for
those in need. Hosts were Robert Bard, Latina Style magazine; Lori Chevy, Bank of America; Yvette Martinez, AARP; and Jorge Jaimes, Signature Grand.
