A homicide detective is a law
enforcement professional who investigates murders.
They analyze crime scenes, examine forensic evidence, interview witnesses, and interrogate suspects.
They usually work for police departments.
My Job Description
Most of the homicide
detectives work 40 hours a week.
A lot of them work overtime. Otherwise they work on a 9am
– 5pm schedule
My Hours
A high school diploma is required. There is a minimum of 2 years of
college is required. Many of them require an associates
degree. I would need to have 3 months to a
year of full police training. I would probably have to have 3 to 5
years in the police force as a police officer.
Many of them start out as regular detectives to get more experience.
