With myotonic muscular dystrophy, you get muscle spasms, stiffening of the hands and overall weakness. There is no treatment or prevention from md. There is physical and speech therapy, and various orthopedic devices. Everyone who has muscular dystrophy has it differently, so no two treatments are exactly the same.
