Geng Younger by Pastor Morgan MacPherson VBS was an incredible experience and huge success this summer! Thank you to everyone who made it possible. Through your service and dedicaon more than 80 kids had the op- portunity to hear of God’s love through worship, games, and Bible stories. The result of all this hard work was that 4 children made the choice to accept Christ while many others went deeper in their commitment to God. I also found myself challenged through this experience. During the mes of singing, I watched as the younger children sang and danced without any hesitaon or reserve. They were not concerned with how they looked or what others thought of them. The older ones, on the other hand, appeared to be very reserved and hesitant to freely worship God. Then I thought about my own acts of worship and how difficult it was for me to relax and have fun while worshipping God. It really took me two weeks of praccing with the band and a whole week of singing with the children to shed some of the reserve that had built up over me. As I thought about this, I realized that many mes when I come to worship God, I care more about other people’s opinions than I do about God’s. Instead of worshipping Him freely, I restrict myself and miss the opportunity to focus solely on Him. 301 I SW • QUINCY, WA 98848-1378 www.qfmc.org Return Service Requested Quincy Free Methodist Church Non-Profit Org. In Matthew 19 we read, “Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, ‘Let the little chil-dren come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” If the kingdom of heaven belongs to children then it means that we can and must learn something from them. Their innocence brings a sense of real-ness that seems to fade as they age.

It is impossible for us to turn the clock back on our physical bodies. However, we can make the choice to worship God like the little children around us. I think they’re on to something too, because the one thing a child’s worship never lacks is life.

CRO has again opened their doors for our church to come

back and minister to a group of over 100 men who have come from

Mexico to work. The first service at CRO began

July 22nd at 6 P.M. We set up, worship, preach, and provide a time of fellowship

with coffee and cookies. We would like to invite you to pray for

this opportunity to show Jesus' love to the lost. If you are interested in helping out in any way, please contact Pastor Daniel at 237-1187. If you would be willing to provide cookies please leave the cookies in the church kitchen and mark them CRO. Thank you!

Communion August 5th

As an expression of your faith and obedience, join with us as we fulfill Jesus’ instruction, recorded in the New Testament, to do, in memory of Him, what He did at His Last Supper. Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and

gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of

you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Matthew 26:26-28

Youth Leader Meeting!

Update from the Site Development Team

Last month we told you that the fence was down and the posts would be cut part way down and a cable run through them to outline the parking lot. This has been complet-ed! Thank you to all who worked on that project. It looks great!

Last month we also told you that the bids went out for side-walks around the Lumberyard property. The bid was awarded to Bruce Hill. There were several that volunteered several hours on a very hot day to do the sidewalk prep/excavation needed before sidewalk installation could be done. Thank you for your sweat equity! The sidewalks have been completed except for about a four foot section on I Street. Thank you to Bruce and his team for doing such a great job in such a short time.

Texturing and Priming has been completed on the interior of the Lumberyard main building. The Exterior/Interior Team will be putting together a workday for painting the interior of the main building soon.

The Site Development Team will continue to update you on the progress being made at the Lumberyard property. Remember, you may make suggestions, comments, and/or give encourage-ment to one of the "team" listed below via an email to [email protected], or placing a note in the yellow suggestion box located in the front foyer. We welcome your input. Our Task Forces:
