Social Contribution Yogi Berra has played on more pennant winning teams and world champion baseball teams than any other player in history. He has set many records for catchers, 148 consecutive games without an error, that is about 592 hours of perfection. Yogi was voted American league’s most valuable player in 1952, 1954 and 1955. Today he is still a living baseball legend at the age of 85

Why the Name Yogi?A Teammate Jack Maguire, from Yogi’s childhood team the Stags, saw a movie about a spiritual leader Known as the Yogi. The Yogi sat very silently, reminding Jack how Larry would sit On the bench during ball games. The nickname stuck. Ever since nobody has called him Lawrence Peter Berra.
