Stop–start capital since the Mongol Yuan dynasty, Beijing is one of China’s true ancient citadels. It is also an aspiring, confident and modern city that seems assured of its destiny to rule over China ad infinitum. A vast and symmetrical metropolis, Beijing is the orderly seat of the communist political power in China, so its architecture traces each and every mood swing from 1949 to the present, from felled hutong(narrow alleys) to huge underground bomb shelters scooped out during the paranoid 1970s. One moment you are sizing up a blank Soviet-style monument, the next you spot a vast, shimmering tower rising up from the footprint of a vanished temple. History may have been trampled in Beijing over the past half century, but there’s still much more substance here than in China’s other dynastic capitals, bar Nanjing or Kaifeng. You just need to do a bit of hunting and patient exploration to find the historical narra-tive. It’s also essential to sift the genuine from the fake: some of Beijing’s once-illustrious past has been fitfully resurrected in the trompe-l’oeil of rebuilt monuments. Colossal flyovers and multilane boulevards heave with more than three million cars but ample pockets of historical charm survive. It’s the city’s epic imperial gran-deur, however, that is truly awe-inspiring.Frank and uncomplicated, Beijing’s denizens chat in Beijinghua – the gold standard of Manda-rin – and marvel at their good fortune for occupying the centre of the known world. And for all its diligence and gusto, Beijing dispenses with the persistent pace of Shanghai or Hong Kong, and locals instead find time to sit out front, play chess and watch the world go by. Beijing is loaded with big-ticket sights: the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven and myriad small pleasures like alley-way bars, noodle shops and art galleries. Khor Fakkan is a seaport along the Gulf of Oman on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located in an isolated enclave belonging to the Emirates of Shariqah and Fujeirah, hence named "Khawr Fakkan", literally means "Creek of Two Jaws". It is a natural deep water port that is now a major container terminal and oil refining facili-ties. Khor Fakkan is a popular tourism spot, surrounded with huge mountains and attractive beaches. The town is set on the picturesque bay of Khor Fakkan, which has a long history of human settlement. Excavations have identified 34 graves and a settlement belonging to the early-mid second millennium BC. These are clustered on rock outcrops overlooking the harbour. It also features coral outcrops suitable for diving and snorkeling. The fish, fruit and vegetable souqs (flea markets) are located at the southern end of the corniche. The scenic Wadi Al-Wurrayah are reachable by a four-wheel-drive around 4.5km north of the Jal Fujeirah.

As you come over the brow of a hill, the splendid natural Bay of Khor Fakkan stretches out in front of you with the prominent features of Shark Island and Port Khor Fakkan rising out of the sea, which is excep-tionally beautiful during sunset. One site of interest is the Rifaisa Dam, in the mountains of Khor Fakkan. This is believed to have been built over a village, and when the water is very still, the tops of the old houses are still visible. The so-called “Friday Market” (it actually oper-ates every day – locals call it Souk Al-Jumaa) is one of the hot-spots not to be missed. Whenever you visit, you’ll find the same selection of tat: plants, tiger-shaped rugs, pottery, many, many inflatable animals and dozens of over-enthusiastic salesmen. It’s a surreal end to your cheap, hassle-free holiday.

The first Festival took place in 1977 and it has since grown to become one of Australia's largest annual cultural celebrations with an international reputation for modern, popular and intelligent programming. In many ways it is probably still best understood as a celebration of Sydney and its style and energy reflect the confidence, diversity and vigour of one of the world's most beautiful cities.

The Festival has a history of presenting Australian premieres and many of Australia's most memorable productions such as Cloudstreet and Smoke & Mirrors have resulted from Sydney Festival's commitment to nurture local artists. It has brought many of the world's great artists to Sydney includ-ing: Ariane Mnouchkine and Thèâtre du Soleil (Flood Drum-mers), Robert Wilson (The Black Rider), Robert Lepage (Far Side of the Moon, The Andersen Project, Lipsynch), Schaubuhne Berlin (Hamlet), Netherlands Dance Theatre, James Thiérrée, Philip Glass, Ian McKellen (Dance of Death), Peter Sellars, Batsheva Dance Company, National Theatre of Scotland (Black Watch, Aalst), Al Green, AR Rahman, Kneehigh Theatre (Tristan & Yseult, The Red Shoes) and Wayne McGregor’s Random Dance (Entity).

Every January, Sydney Festival enlivens and transforms Sydney with a bold cultural celebration based on the highest quality art and big ideas.

The Festival opens each year with the unique Festival First Night - a feast of music, dance and visual spectacle on the streets and in the parks of central Sydney, attracting over 200,000 people. This free event is the curtain raiser to a three week ticketed and free program that reaches an audience of around 1 million people.

The program is kaleidoscopic in its diversity, from burlesque circus to New York rap to Russian theatre; from contempo-rary dance to family programs to traditional Indigenous arts practice. In all, the program comprises around 300 performances and 80 events performed by over 1000 artists in at least 20 venues each year. Inclusive program-ming, a broad range of free events and accessible pricing policies for the ticketed shows means that Sydney Festival

is open to all, welcoming Sydneysiders and visitors from wherever they live.

Festival First Night is on the first Saturday of the Festival and the next two Saturdays offer more free concerts in The Domain precinct of the Botanic Gardens. Summer Sounds has featured the sounds of Brazil, Gypsies, New Orleans and Mali and is followed the next weekend by the orches-tral power of the Sydney Symphony. Throughout January the Festival Garden is home to The Famous Spiegeltent with a capitvating program of burlesque and music which makes the most of the summer nights in the atmospheric setting of Hyde Park and the Beck's Festival Bar in the historic Hyde Park Barracks heaves with the energy of bands and DJs until late on most nights.

More than any other cultural event, Sydney Festival defines Sydney’s personality. For over three decades we have presented international artists who guarantee head-lines, and whose presence in Sydney adds to the Festival’s buzz and prestige. To be a good ticketing person you have to know all level of airfares inside and outer side for that field. Knowledge on best buy fares to the premium fares of the airlines is very important. We need to be alert and aware with the latest promo-tion from time to time. Even though is a bit too much to know, I am quite an inquisitive person anyway and I like the fact that is my job to know all the different side the airlines product. My job as a Travel Manager is to provide help and support to sutra’s travel team in arranging travel services to our clientele and developing a new travel products by collaborating with major airlines such as MAS,AIR ASIA,EMIRATES and others.

Being a people person it is actually much easier if we can be polite to people rather than uptight kind of attitude. I know this is a cliché answer but it is proven based on my experienced handled people came from different background from lower to upper people, a happy client makes my life and job easier and of course there are instances where things go wrong a client has missed their flight due the airlines cancelled opera-tion or system error but the challenge of work-ing things out and finding solutions to even the most challenging of problems can be very exciting and satisfying”.

As time moves forward, the ways of christmas celebration has also turned with its new branches with cruises, christmas decorations, Santa Claus arriving, christmas gift criteria, christmas flower ideas, and many more christmas sayings are seems to be filled the market with enjoyable themes. The new ways and traditions of christmas celebrations have remarked the same with exotic colors and impressive memories that would last for long time.In many countries of the world, the celebration of Christmas on December 25th is a high point of the year. But why? Can it have any real meaning for us today. Coloured lights decorate many town centres and shops, along with shiny decorations, and artificial snow painted on shop windows.In streets and shops, 'Christmas trees' (real or plastic evergreen 'conifer' trees) will also be decorated with lights and Christmas ornaments.

Shopping centres become busier as December approaches and often stay open till late.Shopping centre speaker systems systems will play Christmas 'carols' - the traditional Christmas Christian songs, and groups of people will often sing carols on the streets to raise money for charity. Most places of work will hold a short Christmas party about a week before Christmas. Although traditional Christmas foods may be eaten, drink (and plenty of it) means that little work will be done after the party!

By mid-December, most homes will also be decorated with Christmas trees, coloured lights and paper or plastic decorations around the rooms. These days, many more people also decorate garden trees or house walls with coloured electric lights, a habit which has long been popular in USA. Today not many people consider the religious meaning to Christmas. Most people in Malaysia will not go to a religious church meeting, even at Christmas. It has become a busy race to spend money on presents, and get ready for the Day. A visitor from another world would think that Christmas was a festival to the gods of money and shopping.

CELEBRATION

Bandung, the evergreen, carefree and amazing getaway destination played host to the recent Hong Leong Assurance(HLA) delegates from Malaysia in July2011. A total of more than 250 HLA delegates converge at Bandung- a city of shopping paradise, food heaven, blessed with cool weather, spas, golf….

In view of the big group size, the said group was divided into seven (7) smaller groups based on direct flights from KLIA to Bandung Husein Sastranegara International Airport on Air Asia (6 groups) on 14-16Jul2011 & 15-17Jul2011 & MAS (1 group) on 15-17Jul2011. The selected “home” in Bandung was the 5 star Grand Royal Panghe-gar hotel, within an walking distance from the famous jalan Braga, one of Bandung’s dining and entertainment area. The hotel, with the biggest Grand Ballroom in the city also was the venue for the HLA Get Together Dinner on 15Jul2011. Bandung -called by the Dutch “Parijis van Java” ( Paris of Java) as it offers all the comforts for a city for lovers, beautiful mountainside scenery, cozy night time atmosphere as well as shady trees at the road sides. The 3Days 2Nights Bandung getaway trip though short but was enough to take in the very essence of what Bandung has to offer. The orientation tour of Bandung covering Merdeka Building-site for the Asia-Africa Conference in 1955 that paved the way for the creation of the Non-Aligned Movement in 1961, Gedung Sate-the most prominent landmark built in 1920 and designed to be used as the centre of Dutch East India Government and now currently used as the Governor Office of West Java; and ITB (Institut Teknologi Bandung)-alumni includes independence leader and first president Soekarno.

Lunch was served at the famous Sudanese Sindang Reret Restau-rant in Bandung. Dinner was specially organized at Kampung Daun – the ambience and atmosphere is ideal for groups or even for a romantic dinner with your loved ones or family or friends. All HLA delegates were given a rousing welcome to Kg Daun with music and dance….not forgetting the warm fireplace.(Menu : Sindang Reret Resto , Kampung Daun Resto and New Balibu Resto) The next day , after breakfast at hotel, HLA delegates embarked on a natural discovery volcano tour of Tangkuban Perahu followed by Ciater Hot Spring. The trip to Tangkuban Perahu- “Ship Flipped Over”, located in the north side of Bandung, is rather relaxing and refreshing. Along the way, relieved our senses with the green colour of the tea plantations that are spread out on the land like a giant carpet. In Capetown, South Africa, we have the famous Table Mountain and in Bandung, we have Tangkuban Perahu. The Ratu Crater, the biggest of the 3 craters of Tangkuban is the widest and 100-200m below the peak of Tangkuban Perahu. Ciater Hot Spring is our next stop near Tangkuban Perahu. Ciater Hot spring is a nice park with small pools in which one can sit or swim. The streams and pools are fed by warm mineral springs, which are created by the heat from nearby volcanoes.

On the way back to Bandung, the group stopped for lunch at the new Balibu restaurant with a panoramic view of its local Sudanese homes and countryside with fruit stalls along the road. The long and awaited shopping tour finally arrived….. The delegates went on a shopping spree at Paris Van Java with hypermarts as well as cafes and boutiques and the factory outlets in Jalan Riau namely Branded Outlet, The Summit, Heritage and Cascade….Heritage Factory Outlet is one of the popular places with a good selection of clothes. The building looks like one of those old colonial heritage buildings with Greek columns……Super-brands like Versace, Channel, Christian Dior are mixed with other brands to make them look like real rejects. Better chance with brands like ZARA, DKNY, Nike, Adidas, Timberland, Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren, Emporio Armani….

Bandung has several other Factory Outlets namely at Jalan Setiabudi namely Rumah Mode famous for clothes, shoes, bags, accessories; Jalan Dago - one stop fashion shopping; Jalan Cihampelas-Jeans Street . Pasar Baru is great bargaining shopping place for textiles, batik and clothes including telekung and kain…. Another upcoming product in Bandung by Distros-shops that sell stylish products made by local designers and young entrepreneurs. As the delegates need to be back to the hotel to freshen-up for the Get Together Dinner on 15Jul2011, there was a wishful thinking of time to be on a standstill among the HLA delegates namely the ladies for more shopping … The delegates were treated to a cocktail cum dinner at the Grand Royal Panghegar hotel. On 16Jul2011, all HLA delegates (7 groups) were gathered at the hotel lobby at 7.30am for a group photography session together with their HLA Group MD/ CEO & HLA General Manager. The HLA groups that arrived on 14Jul2011 departed on this day after their morning breakfast… and last minute shopping from the local peddlars with their T-shirts-I Love Bandung , pens, key chains…going at great discounts. Enroute to the airport, the group also stopped to purchase the famous “brownie kukus” or steamed brownies and “kueh lapis” or layer cake as souvenirs for family, friends and relatives. The rest of the groups which arrived on 15Jul2011 continued with their Tangkuban Perahu & Ciater Hot Spring Tour…..and shopping spree and returned to Malaysia on 17Jul2011 with sweet memories and souvenirs…. Indeed, Bandung can be truly be an evergreen, carefree and amaz-ing getaway destination for all shoppers, golfers, spas enthusiasts-not forgetting Bandung’s nickname Kota Kembang, literally meaning the “Flower City” -nothing so much to do with horticulture but Bandung flowers are its famously beautiful girls…..
