Shrinking World

• The world is said to be shrinking, since you can connect

to virtually any where in the world.

• Everyone is on an equal playing field, since technology

has advanced

• The world might not be flat, but it is virtually flattening

• The great thing about globalization (in my opinion) is

that you can be sitting on your couch in Denver,

Colorado, and still be able to talk to someone who is in

Japan.

Three Stages of Globalization• Globalization 1- Went from about 1492-1800

• Some people started to take leadership and started to take some control

• When people started taking roles as leaders, the world felt the effect of it

• People started to integrate

• Globalization 2- Went from 1800-2000• During this next step in integration and globalization, railroads and

steam engines furthered the integration and globalization process• Also during this time era, “the telegraph, telephones, the PC,

satellites, fiber-optic cable, and the early version of the World Wide Web” became popular and this also attributed to flattening our world.

• Globalization 3- Went from 2000-Now• People can talk, text, take pictures, and anything else you can image

anywhere in the world.• Now a days, anybody can affect anything and anyone, even if they

are just a average person minding their own business.
