Delivering Digital Content

Use your LMS for all lessons - no LMS, no problem - Moodle/Canvas/Edmodo/Google DriveCreate a routine of flipped learning - short videos, screencapture, animations, etc Format your digital content for all devices - mp4/mp3Move your existing PPT, PDF, Word docs online (see OneNote/eBooks/interactive PDFs)Work with your colleagues - more variety and better coverage of content when more create/convertHave USBs for “no internet” days

Teaching DigitallyUse your equipment - easier/faster for you, engaging for themDigital doesn’t mean always online - use existing softwareDocument cameras can be connected to the smartboard/projector/computer to project pre-recorded contentSmartboards record and playback contentUse backchanneling in and out of class - TodaysMeet, your LMS, etc - students still want to ask questions after they left your classTweet out/tweet-chat - assignment reminders, links to flipped content Use your experts - your students will know more about troubleshooting than you and want to show offHave students screencast their content practice and share it with you - good examples make for great flipped material

Routines (who, what, when)Establish one single online location for content - your students have to know WHERE they find the lesson/assignment for the day (LMS, online binder, backchannel, etc) before they are in class or when they are not at school establish a sequence that students can anticipate - starter, lesson/guided practice, individual/group practice, exit ticketestablish the location for all elements in your sequence (online, on computers, etc)Have a starter/check-in project? Keep it in the same place online (site/platform, etc)Want your students to deliver projects on time? Send them automatic reminders (calendar invites with alerts)Clarify logistics - e.g. charging stations rules: students expecting to run out of power must sit near charging stations from the beginning of the class (cuts down on distractions)

Expectationsclarify logistics - e.g. charging stations rules: students expecting to run out of power must sit near charging stations from the beginning of the class (cuts down on distractions)broaden the range of assessment submissionshave the students create & share OneNote binders for your class - once shared you have access to all their work, anytime, and they know you can see what they did/didn’t do for the dayclarify consequences for technology misuseplan for no/low technology days be consistent
