Have you ever thought about why you quilt or sew? Some of you quilt as a creative outlet, and your quilts are incredible and we are in awe. And some of you love fabric and quilt so you have an excuse to acquire more! (Guilty!) And many of you quilt as a way to send your love to friends and family, sew-ing pieces of your heart into all of your quilted gifts. And for some, quilting is a way of pre-serving memories. The other day, a new customer came into the shop, wanting help mak-ing a quilt where she would memorialize

favorite quotes of hers us-ing photo transfer. She was not a quilter, or really even much of a sewer, but she saw her project in her "mind's eye" and needed just a bit of help to bring it to fruition. We love folks like that! It made us think about our own reasons for quilting, and remember quilts we had made that we saw first in our minds… and how exciting it was to see them become a reality. Have you felt that way too? Sew…we want to thank all of you for the inspiration you give to us. From the beginning sewer who abso-lutely LOVES her pajama bottoms to the novice quilter who completes a

S e w … W h a t ’ s N e w ?

Quilters are known for their generosity when it comes to helping those less fortu-nate or those stricken by illness or disaster. We have a number of charitable pro-jects going on in the shop that we thought you might like to know about and possi-bly get involved in. Some, like those listed above, have regularly scheduled meet-ings and so they are easy to post. Others meet at a random time convenient for those involved or, we serve as a drop off site for things you do at home and we deliver to those in need. At any rate, we wanted you to be aware of these efforts in case you were able to help out. If you see something that interests you, let us know and we'll keep you in the loop as far as upcoming meeting times. In addition to Comfort Quilts and Case for Smiles (see BOMs and Other Stuff) some other efforts are:

Byrne Sewing Connection

A Place That Makes You Feel "Sew" Special!

Are You a Byrne’s Bee???

Byrne’s Creative Bees First Tuesdays, 7pm and First Wednesdays, 10am

Yup, that's right… this is where we previously posted our Main Event info. We decided that a change was in order, for a couple of reasons. We have become very leery of scheduling out-of-town guests during the potentially snowy months, but we also saw how much many of you missed our monthly programs. So, last fall we went back to our regular 9-month format, October through June, but have kept our winter programs much closer to home. Of course, we still have our wonderful show 'n tell! Additionally, since all of our events are about learning, we really want more of you, our friends and customers, to take advantage of these opportunities. So, in addition to the usual 20% discount on purchases at Main Event (now Byrne's Creative Bees) programs, we'll be offering a 50% discount on the price of almost all of our other special events to enable more of you to participate. (Look for all for the eligible Special Events marked with ***)

So, for the same $90 "club fee" of Main Event, you'll get 9 months of fun and informa-tive programs (Don't forget - we offer a daytime and an evening presentation each month), 20% off anything you purchase at a Bee program and 50% off almost all of our other Special Events. Sew… why aren't you a Byrne's Bee???

Check out the programs for the 2016-17 BEE'S season below.
