Simon Tedeschi

Schubertiad Sunday 26 May | 3pm

Mullumbimby Civic Memorial Hall

Mullumbimby

Schubertiads were informal gatherings at Schubert’s house where he would play what he’d written in the last 24 hours.

Come and cluster round Nicholas Routley at the piano for some chamber music and songs by Schubert and his favourite composer, Mozart, sung by Emilie Lemasson and played by Bridget Crouch, both once locals here but now spreading their wings in Sydney.

2019 Concert Series Launch

Kaleidoscope Sunday 24 March | 3pm

Byron Theatre

W hile the repertoire for keyboard is endless, the piano is one of the only instruments to create a truly orchestral sound on its own; the colours and timbres of the instrument have mirrored not only changes in classical music over time, but also evolutions in engineering and architecture. In this program, Simon Tedeschi presents the piano in all its majesty and dynamism - from the heartbreaking lyricism of Schubert, the romance of Chopin, to the visionary dissonance of Prokofiev, and the incandescent swing of Fats W aller.
