L: The word is derived from the Arabic root hajara yuhajiru which basically means to cut off friendly relations, to cut off the loving communions, to abandon. The root is also used in the sense of deserting , abstaining, neglecting and shunning.

Qur’an said,

ا جميال� واهجرهم هجر�And leave them with noble dignity. (Q. 73:101)

T: Al-Raghib al-Asfahani said, “Hijrah means a person who leaves physically or verbally or spiritually.
