Chapter 2: Prerequisites

To help you plan for a successful implementation of Cumulative Patch, you must meet the following prerequisites:

1. To install and use Cumulative Patch, ensure that you have installed CA Service Catalog R12.6 or R12.6 Service Pack 1 or R12.6 Service Pack 2. For information about them, see http://ca.com/support.

2. Back up your system and database before installing Cumulative Patch. This is necessary in case any problems are encountered during the installation of Cumulative Patch.

For instructions, see Technical Document TEC472303, “Backup and Restore Procedures for CA Service Catalog Products” which is posted on http://ca.com/support.

Chapter 3: How to Apply Cumulative Patch 7

Chapter 3: How to Apply Cumulative Patch

Follow the instructions in this section to apply Cumulative Patch to CA Service Catalog R12.6 or R12.6 Service Pack 1 or R12.6 Service Pack 2. All products and components included with them are upgraded to Cumulative Patch 3, when you apply it as instructed in this section.

All users must follow the instructions in this section to apply Cumulative Patch to the product or products they have installed. If a step does not apply because you do not have one or more of the products installed, then, skip the step and perform all applicable steps, to finish applying Cumulative Patch to the product or products and components that you do have installed.

1. If applicable and if you have not already done so, ensure that CA Service Catalog R12.6 or R12.6 Service Pack 1 or R12.6 Service Pack 2 is installed

Note: Previous releases of these products are not supported for this Cumulative Patch upgrade.

2. Do the following to apply Cumulative Patch:

a. Download the Cumulative Patch cazip (.caz) file from the CA Technical Support at http://ca.com/support.

b. Additionally, if you do not have the cazipxp.exe utility, download it from the CA Technical Support at http://ca.com/support.

c. Extract the Cumulative Patch setup file (CA_SLCM_r12_6_03_Setup.exe) by running the following command:

cazipxp.exe –u <Path to Cumulative Patch cazip file>

d. Run the Cumulative Patch Setup (CA_SLCM_r12_6_03_Setup.exe) on the first (formerly primary) Service View computer and follow the instructions provided by the setup program.

e. Run the Cumulative Patch Setup (CA_SLCM_r12_6_03_Setup.exe) on all other computers that have any of the following products or components installed.

In each case, follow the instructions provided by the setup program.

■ Any additional (formerly secondary) Service View computers.

■ The first CA Workflow computer and any additional CA Workflow computers.

3. Once the above steps have been completed successfully, follow the below steps, if applicable:

a. If you have CA Service Catalog integrated with CA PA (formerly IT PAM), import the following two process definitions, available in CA Service Catalog server, into CA PA, otherwise you can skip this step.

■ %USM_HOME%\catalog\content\itpam\contentpack\processes\CA SLCM\Policy_Approval_Process.xml

■ %USM_HOME%\catalog\content\itpam\contentpack\processes\Custom Operators\CA SLCM\EscalationProcess.xml

b. If you have CA Service Catalog with Oracle database and the default catalog user for MDB is not usmuser, follow the below instructions, otherwise you can skip this step.

■ In the CA Service Catalog Server, go to %USM_HOME%\DBSource.properties and get the value of DBSource.username.

■ Login to Oracle MDB as system user.

■ In the following SQL statement, replace usmuser with the value obtained from the step 1 above, and execute it.

CREATE OR REPLACE SYNONYM usmuser.USM_VW_STUCK_REQUEST_DISTINCT0 FOR mdbadmin.USM_VW_STUCK_REQUEST_DISTINCT0;

Chapter 4: Updates with Cumulative Patch

This section describes the new features, new certifications, fixes, and other updates with the Cumulative Patch.

4.1: Feature updates with Cumulative Patch

The following information summarizes the feature updates as part of the Cumulative Patch.

4.1.1: Feature Updates specific with Cumulative Patch 3 4.1.1.1: Enhanced Security:

This Cumulative Patch contains fixes for enhanced security and the following information provides more details on this: 1. Post application of this Cumulative Patch, all the sensitive operations will be made secure. But the administrator can control this behavior, based on the business needs.

a. To enable this enhanced security for all the nodes, do the following:

Page 9: CA Service Catalog r12.6.03 Readme · 2 CA Service Catalog r12.6.03 Readme This documentation and any related computer software help programs (hereinafter referred to as the

4.1.1: Feature Updates specific with Cumulative Patch 3

Chapter 4: Updates with Cumulative Patch 9

If you have CA Service Catalog with MS SQL database, Go to SQL Server Management Studio and run the following:

BEGIN TRANSACTION update usm_guinode set is_secured = 1 commit

If you have CA Service Catalog with Oracle database, Login to Oracle MDB and run the following: update mdbadmin.usm_guinode set is_secured = 1 commit

b. To disable this enhanced security for all the nodes, do the following: If you have CA Service Catalog with MS SQL database,

Go to SQL Server Management Studio and run the following: BEGIN TRANSACTION update usm_guinode set is_secured = 0 commit

If you have CA Service Catalog with Oracle database, Login to Oracle MDB and run the following: update mdbadmin.usm_guinode set is_secured = 0 commit

c. To enable this enhanced security for a particular node, do the following: If you have CA Service Catalog with MS SQL database,

Go to SQL Server Management Studio and run the following: BEGIN TRANSACTION update usm_guinode set is_secured = 1 where guinode_id =

'$guinnodename$' commit

If you have CA Service Catalog with Oracle database, Login to Oracle MDB and run the following: update mdbadmin.usm_guinode set is_secured = 1 where guinode_id =

'$guinnodename$' commit

d. To disable this enhanced security for a particular node, do the following: If you have CA Service Catalog with MS SQL database,

Go to SQL Server Management Studio and run the following: BEGIN TRANSACTION update usm_guinode set is_secured = 0 where guinode_id =

'$guinnodename$' commit

If you have CA Service Catalog with Oracle database, Login to Oracle MDB and run the following: update mdbadmin.usm_guinode set is_secured = 0 where guinode_id =

'$guinnodename$' commit

2. Besides the above, it is recommended to configure CA Service Catalog to use Secure Socket Layer (SSL).

3. The whole of enhanced security feature can be disabled by commenting out the following filter from web.xml, located under %USM_HOME%\view\webapps\usm\WEB-INF\web.xml. But it is strongly recommend to not to disable this.

<filter> <filter-name>SecurityHandleFilter</filter-name> <filter-class>com.ca.usm.httpfilter.SecurityHandleFilter</filter-class> <init-param> <param-name>bypassNodes</param-name> <param-value>icguinode.login,icguinode.error,icguinode.logout</param-value> <!-- Add a request URI parameter for any newly added URL pattern. (patterns not supported) Multiple URI can be comma seperated (make sure to trim any extra spaces) <param-name>requestURIs</param-name> <param-value>/usm/filestore,/usm/services</param-value>--> </init-param> </filter> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>SecurityHandleFilter</filter-name> <url-pattern>/wpf/*</url-pattern> </filter-mapping> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>SecurityHandleFilter</filter-name> <url-pattern>*.rpc</url-

pattern> </filter-mapping> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>SecurityHandleFilter</filter-name> <url-

pattern>/documents/*</url-pattern> </filter-mapping>

4. There are no changes made or required for ‘Web Service’ methods, as they are already secured. 5. Because of this enhanced security, for those nodes or pages which have been made secure and for which authentication is required, when a user tries to access them, he\she will be prompted for authentication, even in case of NTLM\SSO is enabled.

For the Form Designer Forms that have the 'Text Area', the 'Text Area' doesn't contain the scroll bar, for a submitted request. (I.e. in read only mode). The same is true for the 'Comments' section, under the 'Request Information' section of a submitted request.

USVCT T5ES064 Time Zone could not be edited by any user with any role, from home ->Profile.

USVCT T5ES065

T5KA149

When you click on 'Pending My Action', it would be extremely slow.

USVCT T5ES067

Performance of UIs involved the listing of requests (e.g. My Recent Requests, Pending My Actions, etc) degrade over time resulting in an inability to process requests, view reports or perform any actions in Service Catalog. Symptoms include a continuous increase in the usage of java runtime memory allocated to Service Catalog caused by list attributes being loaded into and retrieved from cache each time a list is requested. The View.log file will contain string entries that continue to grow over time reflecting the attributes of the list in question. Example: 2011/10/11 12.08.35.384 WARN [TP-Processor24] [RequestServiceImpl] Property in ignore properties is null:[rpa.delegation,rpa.taskDescription, req.completionDate, rpa.groupTakenBy, req.requestedForAccount, req.requestedByAccount, domain, requestByUser, requestForUser, requestedByAccount, requestedForAccount, modifiedDate, desiredDate, completionDate, createdDate, domain, requestByUser, requestForUser, requestedByAccount, requestedForAccount, modifiedDate, desiredDate, completionDate, createdDate, domain, requestByUser, requestForUser, requestedByAccount, requestedForAccount, modifiedDate, desiredDate, completionDate, createdDate, domain, requestByUser, requestForUser, requestedByAccount, requestedForAccount, modifiedDate, desiredDate, completionDate, createdDate, domain, requestByUser, requestForUser, requestedByAccount, requestedForAccount,

USVCT T5ES068 Ability to add more than one service to a request, despite the option 'Allow Only One Service Per Request' is set to 'YES'. The issue is observed in the following scenarios: Scenario 1 1. Click on an old request 2. Click on Copy 3. Click on Add from Catalog, and then choose a new service. 4. Click on Add to Request 5. Click on Save 6. Click on Submit Request 7. You Can Submit the request successfully. Scenario 2 1. Click on a request, which has its Status ‘Not Submitted – Rejected’ 2. Click on Edit 3. Click on Add from Catalog, and then choose a new service. 4. Click on Add to Request 5. Click on Save 6. Click on Submit Request 7. You Can Submit the request successfully. Scenario 3 1. Click on a request, which has its Status ‘Not Submitted’ 2. Click on Add from Catalog, and then choose a new service. 3. Click on Add to Request 4. Click on Save 5. Click on Submit Request 6. You Can Submit the request successfully.

USVCT T5ES070 When a Service Catalog rule is triggered (by any event like submitting of a request, approving of a request, etc.), it triggers all the associated actions, irrespective of whether they are ENABLED or DISABLED. This was observed when the corresponding rule is edited and then saved.

USVCT T5ES071 One or more Requests randomly get stuck after submission. This is observed during a momentary communication issue where Service Catalog is not able to reach CA PA (formerly IT PAM) or CA PA is not able to reach EEM - all this, while CA Service Catalog, CA PA and the corresponding EEM servers and processes are Running.

USVCT T5ES073 Though the RICH TEXT(Bullets in an un-ordered list and Numbers in

Page 14: CA Service Catalog r12.6.03 Readme · 2 CA Service Catalog r12.6.03 Readme This documentation and any related computer software help programs (hereinafter referred to as the

an ordered list) is enabled in the SOE’s, this is not being reflected in the following pages:

Catalog item details, while creating the request.

Catalog item details, in the CART. Request item details, of a submitted request.

USVCT T5ES075

T5ES078

Placing the following customized files under %USM_HOME%\filestore\custom\explorer\request, we get the error, "Error Occured: Cannot render page as it may not be saved in proper encoding format or may have compilation errors. Please refer to the logs for more information."

requestaddedit.xsl

catalogcheckout.xls

catalogitemdetails.xsl But, when placing the same files directly under its original folder %USM_HOME%\view\webapps\usm\explorer\request\, everything works fine.

USVCT T5ES076 If we have a request, in Not Submitted status, that contains a Service which has at least two SOG's, at least one of which contains a Form, then if we try to delete any of the selections, it results in-complete deletion, as there would be some SOE's which are un-deleted. This is happening only when there's at least one SOG that contains a Form.

USVCT T5ES077

T5ES092

T5ES093

T5ES094

When we try to open an attachment of a request, we get the following error, ‘Error Occurred:Error occurred while processing the request’, resulting in not able to open the attachment. This is happening when the name of the attachment contains one or more single quotes (‘).

USVCT T5ES080 Even though the option ‘Allow Only One Service Per Request’ set to YES, ‘Add to Cart’ button is visible, once the Catalog item is selected, as part of the request creation process, where as only ‘Add to Cart and Check Out’ button should be visible. This is happening only for Services with Forms, but not for other Services.

USVCT T5ES082 A user with role ‘Catalog User’ can tamper with the URL, and can successfully modify the “Requested For” field, of a request.

USVCT T5ES083 In the following URL (obtained in the process of sending an email (from the page, Home -> Requests -> <any Request> -> Email)), by altering the ‘From’ email address, we can successfully send the email. This can lead to security issues, as the email in question has indeed been able to be sent from a wrong source. http://catalogServer:8080/usm/wpf?Node=icguinode.requestbyhtml&Args=requestemailprofile&Args=10043&Args=html&Args=yes&Args=Abc12345%40gmail.com&Args=gobve01%40ca.com&Args=&Args=&Args=Email%20of%20Request%20%2810043%29%20-%20Install%2FHardware%2FTools&Args=Request%20%2810043%29%20created%20on%2012%2F07%2F2011%2013%3A56%3A00&Args=

true&gnode=requestprofile&Args=en

USVCT T5ES085 When using CA EEM token(also known as CA EEM certificate) login for CA PA(formerly IT PAM) integration, the ‘Load’ (Home -> Administration -> Configuration -> CA IT Process Automation Manager -> Load) will fail, this despite the ‘Test’ (Home -> Administration -> Configuration -> CA IT Process Automation Manager -> Test) being successful

USVCT T5ES086 When we click on Advanced Search (Home -> Requests -> Advanced Search), it loads all the records, before we actually enter the search string, which is a different behavior from that of the earlier releases of Service Catalog.

USVCT T5ES092 Despite removing a role from 'Access Control: Show Related Ticket Column', the related ticket will still be displayed for Service (es), in the request details page, for the corresponding role. When a role is added to 'Access Control: Show Related Ticket Column', the related ticket will be displayed for both Service(es) and Service Option Groups(SOG’s), in the request details page, for the corresponding role, but when the role is removed, it shouldn’t be displayed either for Service(es) or SOG’s.

USVCT T5ES095 Any user with role other than the ‘End User’, if the user tries to edit his\her profile through ‘Profile’ link, then the ‘Job Title’ will be missing. But, if the User tries to edit his\her profile or other Users’ profiles, through ‘Administration ->Users -><Desired User’ -> Edit’, (provided if the User in question is authorized to access ‘Administration ->Users -><Desired User’ -> Edit’ option), then the issue won’t occur.

USVCT r12.6.03 Catalog configuration setting(Service Builder > Configuration > Catalog Configuration, change "Default Effect of Service Option Element Changes" property to "Immediately during Accounts' Billing Period" value.) corrupts proper copying of a request after its SOE is changed.

USVCT r12.6.03 For the CA PA (formerly IT PAM) process '/CA SLCM/Policy_Approval_Process', in the exception handler, the first operator does some checks to determine if it should continue retrying after an error occurs. The flag 'Process.ActivityRetryMaxMet__' is set to determine if the maximum number of retries is met. Each time this is set to TRUE, the delay operator resets it to FALSE, before the value is checked again, leading to an infinite loop.

USVCT r12.6.03 For an SOE, in its definition, if the 'Display Text' length is 1024 characters, we can't generate invoices, for the subscriptions in which the SOE in question is part of.

USVCT r12.6.03 The Advanced Search by using 'Service Option Element Name' would display duplicate rows.

Page 16: CA Service Catalog r12.6.03 Readme · 2 CA Service Catalog r12.6.03 Readme This documentation and any related computer software help programs (hereinafter referred to as the

USVCT r12.6.03 Even though the option 'Allow Only One Service Per Request' set to YES, 'Add to Cart and checkout' button is visible, even after the Cart has one item, as part of the request creation process. This is happening only for Services with Forms, but not for the Services without Forms.

USVCT r12.6.03 If a Service is chosen to be dependent on another Service, it disappears from the list of Services. This issue has been addressed and the new behavior would be as follows: If Service A is dependent on Service B and Service A is dependent on Service C. Then the following will be feasible:

If someone subscribes to Service B, then the Service A will automatically be subscribed to.

if someone subscribes to Service C, then the Service A will automatically be subscribed to

This scenario is not possible with the previous behavior, as the Service A disappears once the Service B is subscribed to.

USVCT r12.6.03 It is expected to hide the ‘Delegate’ link in the drop-down list of ‘Actions’ column of ‘Pending My Action’ page, when a request is assigned to a group. Here, as part of addressing the above, the new behavior would be as follows: The ‘Delegate’ link, in the drop-down list of ‘Actions’ column of ‘Pending My Action’ page, when a request is assigned to a group, will still be visible, but a warning ‘Warning: No service is available to Delegate’ will be displayed on clicking “Delegate’ link.

USVCT T5F3084

T5F3090

T5F3091

T5F3098

The overall performance of R12.6 release is slow. Especially, when the default 10 requests showing on the "My Recent Requests" section, and each of the request has multiple services (10+), the response time to populate all 10 requests to that section is slow.

USVCT T5F3088 When two users (e.g. user1 and user2) are trying to update the status of the same request, user1 updates the status first, and then user2. In r12.5 release, user2 sees a warning message saying that the status has been changed, and the update for user2 does not go through. However, in R12.6 release, user2 does not see this warning, and the update goes through.

USVCT T5F3089 After a user enters the time date information to the time date component in a form designer form, when the web service method, getFormRateItemValues is called, only the date is returned without the time.

4.4: Known Issues

26 CA Service Catalog r12.6.03 Readme

4.4: Known Issues

The known issues, workarounds, and solutions when using Cumulative Patch are documented in this section.

4.4.1: Web service ‘FormDesignerService’

The new web service ‘FormDesignerService’ is not supported with workflow, i.e. users cannot use this web service from workflow ide. Users can consume this service through normal soap calls.

4.4.2: Error Dialog on Closing Internet Explorer

When users close an Internet Explorer window containing a page with dashboard having “Authenticated Access” enabled, an error dialog might be displayed. If, however, the window is closed from any other page or after logging out of the product, the error dialog is not displayed.

4.4.3: Unable to assign Model for each service option element

This issue applies only if integrated with CA Asset Portfolio Management (CA APM).

This is a browser specific problem and occurs in Mozilla Firefox and the workaround is to go with the Internet Explorer.

4.5: Documentation Updates

Documentation updates have been mentioned in this section.

4.5.1: Service Dependencies

Following, in italics, has been wrongly mentioned under ‘Service Dependencies’ section of ‘CA Service Catalog Administration Guide’ and Product’s online help.

‘Note: This feature is supported only by CA Service Accounting. If you are using CA Service

Catalog alone or together with CA Service Accounting, you must not use this feature.’

The above has been corrected to be read as follows:

4.5.2: Export Service Option Groups Using IXUTIL Example

Chapter 4: Updates with Cumulative Patch 27

Note: This feature is supported only by CA Service Accounting, but you can use it together with

CA Service Catalog or with CA Service Accounting alone.

4.5.2: Export Service Option Groups Using IXUTIL Example

Following, in italics, has been wrongly mentioned under ‘Export a Service Option Group Using IXUTIL Example’ section of ‘CA Service Catalog Reference Guide’.

‘3. Enter the following command:

ixutil export rateplan –f output.xml –folder “Service Option Group 1” –domain “ca.com”

The definition of the service option group named “Service Option Group 1” in the business unit named “ca.com” is exported to the %USM_HOME%\view\exports\output.xml file.’

The above has been corrected to be read as follows:

3. Enter the following command:

ixutil export rateplan –f output.xml –domain “ca.com”

The definitions of all the service option groups in the business unit named “ca.com” are

exported to the %USM_HOME%\view\exports\output.xml file.

4.5.3: Data Objects – Runtime Variables

With the fixes introduced as part of the cumulative patch for report object, every SQL wildcard character '%' in a report object query should be escaped with another '%' character.

e.g. The query SELECT first_name,middle_name,last_name FROM ca_contact WHERE (ca_contact.last_name like '%Last_Name%%') should be modified as SELECT first_name,middle_name,last_name FROM ca_contact WHERE (ca_contact.last_name like '%Last_Name%%%')

Important! CA technologies strongly recommends that in addition to applying the Cumulative Patch

customers configure Catalog to use Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Instructions for enabling SSL can be

found in the implementation guide along with other general security considerations. In addition to

these steps administrators should also disable login using HTTP GET. To disable this type of login set

the “Allow Login with GET” configuration in Administration, Configuration, Single Sign On

Authentication section to No.
