PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

Using a SASSEXTT table for external job tracking will only work

for the first entry. Subsequent entries will not be used,

so some jobs may not track properly in CA 7.

This fix will correct the problem so that all entries can be used

successfully. Note that any current table in use will have to be

re-assemble.

SYMPTOMS:

A problem in the $L2EXTT macro to build model

queue records for tracking external jobs.

IMPACT:

An external job is not tracking by CA 7.

S0C4 ABEND WHEN USING QUEUE MAINTENANCE PANELS


CA7ONL abnormally terminates with a S0C4 abend when using Queue

Maintenance panels QM.1-X or QM.1-M to perform functions against jobs.

The abend occurs because work areas have been incorrectly reset to a value

of all x'9F's. This change will also fix errors on the QM.1-X and QM.1-M

panels that cause message QM20-01 xx INVALID MACRO RETURN CODE rrrrrrrr.

The fix will recognize that the work area contains invalid values and

will return the terminal user to the QM.1 panel

SYMPTOMS:

CA7ONL receives S0C4 abend or terminal user receives error message QM20-01.

IMPACT:

CA7ONL abnormally terminates and must be restarted or a terminal user

cannot perform a queue maintenance function.

IAS is now capable of increasing the size of the in-storage logging table,

IASLOG.

The agent definition file can now use a new command LOGGER SIZE(XXXX).

The SIZE keyword values can range from 0001 to 1000.

The default is 0005 which equivalent to 5M.

The max size is 1000 which is approximately 1GB.

SYMPTOMS:

Current IASLOG may not contain sufficient information because

it's a 5M area.

The CAS9 processing used by CA 7 can cause multiple

entries in LPA for IEFBR14. The problem can occur

using the GLOBAL DELETE option. This fix will

prevent using the name of IEFBR14 in the GLOBAL

DELETE process.

Note that if a later CAS9 using GLOBAL REFRESH is

done, then the IEFBR14 code used may get freed and

reused, and thus cause system problems (possible

various S0C4 abends). The IBM command SETPROG LPA

can be used to "reload" the IEFBR14 module, so that

an IPL will not be required. With this fix, no

usage of the name IEFBR14 will be done, and even

a subsequent GLOBAL REFRESH will not cause any

problems.

SYMPTOMS:

Multiple entries for IEFBR14.

IMPACT:

High, if a GLOBAL REFRESH is done.

Do not do a GLOBAL REFRESH .
