Metallurgica Bresciana S.p.A., with over 45 years of experience, is a
European leading company in the design and production of special
precision cables and fiber optic cables.
The production site is located in Dello (BS) and recently the company
has launched a new plant in Ma’anshan (Republic of China) dedicated
to the production of cables for the local market.
The high know-how of the staff, the latest generation of machines
combined with targeted investments in research and development
are the prerequisites for a high quality product, recognized by
national and international certification bureau.
For this reasons Metallurgica Bresciana S.p.A. represents one of
the most significant, dynamic and well-established company in the
market of special cables.

PHILOSOPHY
R&D and QUALITY CONTROL
Metallurgica Bresciana performs a constant control of the process to
guarantee the highest quality level of products.
It is provided with a laboratory in which operate 8 technicians,
equipped with modern equipment that allows to internalize 100% of
the characterization tests on raw materials and normative tests on the
finished product and it has obtained the WMT certification by IMQ.
Our staff is also actively engaged in the leading national and
international standards committees to demonstrate our corporate
philosophy.
- climatic chambers for tests at low and high temperature - flame retardant test equipment EN50266, EN60332 and UL1685 - fire resistance test equipment IEC60331, EN50200, EN50362 and BS6387 - smoke, optical density test area EN61034 - network analyzer from 0,5MBit to 3GBits - optical time domain reflectometer - optical fiber elongation test - voltage test area - various instruments for analysis of plastic materials (halogen emission, thermogravimetric, etc.).
Metallurgica Bresciana’s production system follows a “custom made”
production approach; thus the structure works towards the design
and manufacturing of each cable according to Client’s specific
requirements.
This philosophy of production enables the company to be extremely
flexible in meeting the demands of new market requirements;
moreover, it allows each individual order to be followed through from
the design stage to delivery and ensures the highest quality control
for both production and service.
Since is foundation the company pays the utmost attention to its
human resources through proper information and continuous focused
and motivating training, to allow our staff to enhance their skills and
so improve the added value of the service provided to end users.

BASIC DESIGN CRITERIA
OPTIONS AVAILABLE
For applications where Flame spread, minimal smoke and toxic gases emission are critical suitable designs and proper compounds are available to:
IEC 60754-1&2
IEC 61034:
IEC 60332-3-22A, , 3-24C, 3-25D:
tests on gas evolved during the combustion of materials from cables.
measurement of smoke density of electric cables burning under defined conditions.
test on electric cables under fire conditions.
PAS 5308 Instrumentation Cables are used in the provision of voice and data services and to interconnect electrical instrumentation and equipment in and around process plants, where transducers generated signals are transmitted through marshalled circuit to panels, controllers and associated devices.
PAS 5308 Instrumentation cables divide up in:two partsPart 1: Polyethylene insulated cablesPart 2: PVC insulated cables
and three typesType 1: Unarmoured cables - generally for indoor applications and not suitable for burial undergroundType 2: Single Wire Armoured cables - suitable for burial undergroundType 3: Lead sheathed cables - suitable for burial underground in very aggressive chemical soils
Part 1 are widely used throughout the petroleum industry, while cables to Part 2 to the chemical and petrochemical industry

RATED VOLTAGE
*: The most common conductors size are 16 AWG and 20 AWG. Thermocouple extension and compensating cables other standards are available.
To IEC 60332-3-24C Fire test on a single vertical insulated wire or cable
OPTIONS AVAILABLE
300 / 500 V
For some industrial processes in the chemical and petrochemical environments, temperature control is a key factor. The system of temperature measurement is based on the fact that when two different kind of metallic conductors are connected together at the two ends and these junctions are brought at different temperatures one electromotive force brought (e.m.f.) establishes within the circuit. The e.m.f. depends on the nature of the conductors and the difference of temperature between the hot source (sensing junction) and the cold source (measuring junction) connected to the measuring device. In most of the cases the distance between the sensing and the measuring devices is quite considerable and the connection between the two is then made by the thermocouple extension or compensating cables.
APPLICATIONS
For applications where Flame spread, minimal smoke and toxic gases emission are critical suitable designs and proper compounds are available to:
IEC 60754-1&2
IEC 61034:
IEC 60332-3-22A,3-24C, 3-25D:
tests on gas evolved during the combustion of materials from cables.
measurement of smoke density of electric cables burning under defined conditions.
test on electric cables under fire conditions.

IEC 60754-1&2:
IEC 61034:
IEC 60332-3-22A,3-23B, 3-24C, 3-25D:
tests on gas evolved during the combustion of materials from cables.
measurement of smoke density of electric cables burning under defined conditions.
test on electric cables under fire conditions.
Pilot and Telephone:The auxiliary cables are intended primarily for use with power distribution and transmission system for control. protection, signalling and data transmission purposes.Although these cables are designed for system mainly operated by Electrical Supply Boards, they are also very useful in many industrial systems requirements. The range of cables herewith described is intended for induced voltage up to 5kv which covers most of the industrial systems requirements.

tests on gas evolved during the combustion of materials from cables.
measurement of smoke density of electric cables burning under defined conditions.
test on electric cables under fire conditions.
Electric cables, beyond being a possible source or fire, are also a means a fire propagation along the cable runs with disastrous consequences for people and assets.
Fire alarm, safety and fire fighting services are therefore requested and their scope of work is to keep circuit integrity to grant the integrity of the service itself.
Fire resistant instrumentation cables are hence utilised in all those signalling and alarm service to allow prompt intervention and quick people evacuation from the area where the fire is developing.

APPLICATIONS
300 / 500 V
MB - FIELDBUS CABLES
OPTIONS AVAILABLE
* for applications where Flame spread, minimal smoke and toxic gases emission are critical suitable designs and proper compounds are available to:
IEC 60754:
IEC 61034:
IEC 60332-3-22 A, 3-24 C, 3-25 D
tests on gas evolved during the combustion of materials from cables.
measurement of smoke density of electric cables burning under defined conditions.
test on electric cables under fire conditions.
Fieldbus technology is increasingly developing for the control of industrial processes and it is referred to the complete chain of the control instruments of the plant.
Fieldbus is a Local Area Network for instruments used in both process and manufacturing automation with the in-built capability to distribute the control application across the network.
