Eileen’s take on her image. The image was taken at Barangaroo ,Sydney called "Anadara". Designed byArchitect Richard Francis-Jones. I liked the soft Wave look of the buildingthat made it stand out from the others. I took this on a Canon 80D, ISO 640, F.stop F3.5, exp 1/3 sec. while on a nightwalk during Vivid

Photowalks

Date: Wednesday 21st October“Barangaroo Photo Walk”The plan is to meet at Campbelltown railway station to catch the 8.48am train. So meet at the station earlier than that time. Plan on being in the city by 10am. A walk around Barangaroo and finishing up with a lunch if you so wish. This isrun by Christine Maidment.

Date: Saturday 31st October“Harbour Lights' Photo Walk” Join me when I lead a Macarthur Photographic Society Photo Walk around Darling Harbour. Suggested Itinerary The opportunities are;A Sunset shoot from Observatory Hill. (SS 7.22pm) Meet at the Observatory Hill Rotunda before 6.45pm7.45pm Walk back to Cockle Bay via Barangaroo, a fair walk.8.15pm Dinner at any of the restaurants along the waterfront at Cockle Bay. Group booking or find your own (details to come).9.30pm Harbour Lights Reflections Workshop for about an hour then go home.

We will be focusing on reflections in the water. The local building signs and window lighting reflect well in the inky water at night. You will be shooting with high ISOs (around ISO 1600) and fast shutter speeds, having a portable tripod and tele lens around the 200mm mark would be advantageous. Have a practice on ISO 1600 around your neighbourhood so you get a feel for where your shutter speed should be to stop gentle movement (waves).I will help you identify reflected subjects and suggest ways to set up for your shot.

How the night works.Above is a suggested itinerary.

The alternative is to eat before we shoot then meet at Observatory Park at 6.45pm, shoot Sunset then move back to Cockle Bay for the Workshop 8.15pm, shoot till about 9.00pm then head home from Town Hall Station. We can discuss the details quickly at our competition meeting next Wednesday then I will confirm the arrangements andbook a restaurant if required.

Great chance for beginners to get off Auto and shoot in Manual so research the Exposure Triangle. I urge anyone who wants to learn how to use manual setting on your camera to ask questions and experienced club members will help you with the answers.

Regards

Peter Sherlock
