Link Mode, IP Address, Mask, Gateway, Management VLAN Enable and Management VLAN.

The following should be noticed:

P3-2 NC Network Setup

1. Static/Dynamic. After setting dynamic link mode, system will distribute IP address,

mask, and gateway. It should be guaranteed to use DHCP server in the network. If it is

static link mode, parameters should be manually set. Immediately take effect after

setup. New IP address to remotely login WEB network management needs to be

adopted. Static IP is suggested to be adopted, because after NC IP is set, it will not be

easily adjusted.

Luster Teraband Photonics Co., Ltd

20

2. When Management VLAN Enable switch is selected enable and VLAN ID is set,

network with this VLAN ID should be adopted to visit WEB network management.

Take effect immediately after setup. Set according to actual VLAN plan of client.

4.3.2 SNMP Setup

SNMP Setup (P3-3) includes: SNMP Enable, Trap Address and Trap Enable.

P3-3 SNMP Setup

Note: Purpose of trap setup is to send trap information to the trap server. Only if

corresponding trapswitch of trap address #1, #2 and #3 is enabled, corresponding trap

address can be set. NC will send the trap information to each server which has enabledtrap

switch.

4.3.3 NTP Setup

NTP is to synchronize time of NC. NTP setup (P3-4)includes: NTP Enable, NTP Server IP

andSynchronous Interval.

When NTP Enable is selected Enable, NC can set time synchronization of NTP. In order to

guarantee security of NC to avoid network attack, NC can’t directly visit Internet but only

Intranet. So, when NTP is adopted, guarantee that there is NTP server in Intranet

Synchronous Interval: It is used to set NTP sending interval of synchronous message.

4.4.1 RF Setup

Detail parameters are shown as below:

1. Card Selection: Card #1 to #4 is corresponding to Channel A to D. This option is used

to display and set configuration of current channel. Channel A is data main channel.

No CPE could access the network if Channel A is closed.

2. RF Enable: It determines whether coaxial RF of current channel is started. If it is

closed, no CPE in this channel could access the network.

3. Channel Setup Mode: It has two modes: continuous setup mode and free setup

mode.

Continuous Setup: Four central frequencies are continuous. Client just needs to

set the central frequency of Channel A. Central frequencies of other channels

will be set automatically based on Channel A.

Free Setup: Central frequencies of four channels can be set manually.

Luster Teraband Photonics Co., Ltd

24

4. Channel: It is the central frequency of current channel. Accessing CPE should be

identical to this frequency. We suggest using default setup to get better running

performance. If adjustment is required, please guarantee four frequencies are in the

range of continuous 200MHz.

5. Max Transmit Power: Max value of transmit power automatically adjusted by NC.

6. Max PHY Rate: Keep trying different powers until maximum PHY rate is detected to

reach the setting value.

7. Noise Margin: Equipment dynamically detects each RF frequency channel to make

each node gets to the optimum rate. Equipment will compare detected SNR with the

SNR corresponding to the predicted velocity. In order to adapt the slight change

caused by measurement, temperature and channel condition, equipment can

automatically add margin to the detected SNR.

8. QAM: It is to set upper limit value of modulation density.

9. Auto Distance Mode: Coaxial distance between NC and CPE is difficult to determine.

NC can automatically detect the distance by enabling auto distance mode.

10. Transmission Distance: When auto distance mode is enabled, this value can set the

real distance between NC and CPE.

Warning: RF parameter has been adjusted as optimum. Unless necessary, please

don’t modify the above parameters. Your modification may block the network.

4.4.2 IGMP Snooping Setup

IGMP Snooping is used to maintain the corresponding table relationship of multicast address

and VLAN by monitoring the IGMP message communicated between user and equipment. It

maps the active members of the same multicast to the same VLAN. When receiving the

multicast package, it only forwards the package to the corresponding VLAN member

Enable: Enable IGMP Snooping profile.

Disable: Disable IGMP Snooping profile.

Luster Teraband Photonics Co., Ltd

25

Notice: After modifying the setup, it can only take effect after manual restart of

the system.

4.4.3 Broadband Ratio Setup

Downstream Ratio: Adjust the ratio of downstream bandwidth to total bandwidth.

Notice: After modifying the setup, it can only take effect after manual restart of

the system.

4.4.4 Storm Filter Setup

Too big quantity of broadcast and multicast package (because of been forwarded) in the

network will influence normal network communication. They will occupy much bandwidth

and cause network to be abnormal. Storm filter setup allows port to filter the package in the

network.

Storm filter can restrain broadcast package and multicast package separately. Currently,

storm filter of NC is to restrain upstream storm.

4.5 CPE Profiles

In order to manage CPE easily, NC adopts profile template mode. After building a profile

template, bind the profile template to the CPE, then finish the management and setupof the

CPE profile.

Profile Template: It containssetup of CPE RF parameter, bandwidth setup of voice,

video and data profiles (P3-7).

Notice: RF parameter has been adjusted as optimum. Unless necessary, please

don’t modify the above parameters. Your modification may block the network.

Luster Teraband Photonics Co., Ltd

26

P3-7 Profile Template Modification

Profiletemplate will set network port only after CPE setup and profile template binding. This

setup can realize each profile of each CPE and personalizedsetup of CPE. (See 3.6.4 CPE

Setup)

4.5.1 Profiles List

P3-8 Profiles List

Profiles List (P3-8) has listed all existing profile templates.

Number of CPE: Total quantity of CPEs that are adopting this profile;

Modify: Modify the setup of the profile;

Delete: If some CPE is using this profile, it is unable to delete. If the profile template

needs to be deleted, firstly delete the CPE using this profile in Whitelist and Blacklist.

This profile template can be deleted until quantity of CPE using this profile is 0

Reboot: Reboot all of the CPEs using this profile.

Add: Maximum 128 profile templates can be added.

Luster Teraband Photonics Co., Ltd

27

4.5.2 ProfileTemplate Modification

Profile template modification (P3-7) contains information below:

RF Setup:

Noise Margin: Equipment dynamically detects each RF frequency channel to make

each node gets to the optimum rate. Equipment will compare detected SNR with the

SNR corresponding to the predicted velocity. In order to adapt the slight change caused

by measurement, temperature and channel condition, equipment can automatically add

margin to the detected SNR.

QAM: It is to setup upper limit value of modulation density.

MaxPHY Rate: Equipment keeps trying different powers until maximum PHY rate is

detected to reach the setting value.

Min Link PHY Rate: CPE automatically detects minimum value of PHY rate. This value

is the threshold value of CPE offline.

Notice: RF parameter has been adjusted as optimum. Unless necessary, please

don’t modify the above parameters. Your modification may block the network.

Notice: Profile name could not conflict with existing profile name when adding

or modify profile template. Only setting information can be modified when modifying

profile management. Setup will take effect only after the CPE using this profile restarts.
