We are happy to welcome all our Two year olds this FALL. We are still working very hard on potty training, so please make sure your child has an extra change of clothes in case of an accident. We are looking forward to this October and all our Fall art work with our Creepy Crawlers, Pumpkins, and Halloweeen Fun. This will be a great month!

Welcome Dawson and Josie to our Toddler crew! We are so happy to have you both join us! For the month of October we will be getting into our “spooky spirits” by using our colors and hands to make some awesome masks and treats for the holiday. We can’t wait to explore letters J-N and put those into our Halloween discoveries!

……….“learning for life”

This month we are studying all things spooky! We will talk about Dinosaurs, Pumpkins, Halloween, and Creepy Crawlers. We will also be talking about Fire Safety. It is never too early to start teaching safety to your little ones. Important dates to remember are Saturday, October 27th which is our Fall Festival from 9-12. We will also have a Halloween Costume Contest on October 31st during the day! We love seeing the littles in their cute outfits! And a Happy Birthday to Maggie who is turning ONE on the 30th!

October is Fire Safety month and we are excited that the Hall County Fire Department will be visiting us on Monday, October 1st. The kids will get to see the firetrucks, learn about the different parts & what they are used for as well as see what firemen look like in full gear. We are thankful for these men and women– not only for their service to the community, but for taking the time to help educate our children as well!

Fall is officially here! Halloween is such a fun time to dress up , show your fun and Halloween side. This month we have some very fun events coming up. Hall County Fire Services will be here October 1st at 9am so be sure your kiddos are here by 9 this day so they don’t miss out. We will have our Fall Festival on Saturday, October 27th from 9-12 so be sure to come play some games and have some snacks. October 31st will be our costume contest so come dressed to impress for some yummy candy. Make sure to bring a bag or basket this day! Please be sure to pack or leave extra clothes in your child’s bag in case of an accident. Please be safe and have a Happy Halloween!

’It is finally October which means this hot weather will be leaving soon and we will finally feel some cool air! We have lots of things planned for this month and one of those is our Fall Festival on the 27th! It’s going to be an exciting month as we talk about Halloween and many things that go along with it like Pumpkins and Creepy Crawlers! We will also talk about fire safety this month so we can learn what to do in these important situations. All of the kids love dinosaurs so they also enjoy learning about them this month too! Our art and exploration can sometimes get messy, it is best to send your child in clothes that can get dirty or send in an art shirt. Please be sure to check your child’s cubby daily. Friday’s we send home art and they may also get the opportunity to chose something out of our treasure box, so that will also be in there! Thank you all for your continued support!

Fall is here and even though the temperatures are not cooperating just yet .... I am loving the anticipation of cooler weather, leaves changing, pumpkins, scarecrows and of course...Halloween! In our classroom, we stay busy but this is an especially busy time of year. It starts now and does not slow down until after the holiday season. As we start the month we will focus on fire safety. What should we do if we see a fire, our clothes or our home catch fire? How can we prepare? We will also have a visit from the Hall County Fire Services. Dinosaurs are always a favorite unit of study. We will talk about plant eaters, meat eaters and compare sizes as we spend a week studying these giant creatures. I am anticipating fall temperatures as we study pumpkins and all the many ways that pumpkins can be used. There will also be lots of fun crafts and an edible activity for us to enjoy! Halloween is not only a fun and exciting time but it is also a great time for super fun and silly crafts! We will conclude the month of October learning about creepy crawlers and nocturnal animals. We will have a special Halloween celebration and as always, don't forget that we will have a costume contest and parade on Halloween! The Academy will be hosting the annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 27th. Please mark your calendars now and plan to have a fun Saturday morning with your Academy family!

I cannot believe that it is already October! I'm so happy to be back! Please let me know if you want your child to complete their homework, so that I can make sure that they are working on it. The Academy Fall Festival will be on Saturday, October 27. We will have a costume contest for our class on Wednesday, October 31. There will be a prize for the winner! If you have any questions please let me know. Have a great month!

Happy Fall Y’all! Well, the air is getting much cooler, the wind is blowing and the leaves are all changing and falling to the ground. It is hard to believe that the children have been in school for over a month! They are making great strides and seem to be settling in very well. It has been a true blessing to work with each one of you and your children up to this point and we are looking forward to what the rest of this year will bring! October will be one busy and fun filled month. We will be going on our FIRST field trip this month to Warbington Family Farm on Thursday, October 25th. The cost will be 9 dollars per child. The children will get to go on a hay ride, read a story, feed the animals, and pick a pumpkin for the class. We will be leaving the school at 9:45. We are so excited. On October 31st the children get to wear their Halloween costumes to school. We will have a little Halloween costume contest and a parade.

October is such a fun month for prek. Our field trip is scheduled for Friday October 26th to Warbington Farms. We would love to have parent chaperones, so let me know if you can attend. The cost is $9 per student or parent chaperone. We will leave the school at 9:45 and the field trip runs 10:30-12:30, then we will eat lunch there at the farm. The themes for October are Fire Safety, Dinosaurs, Pumpkins, Halloween, and Nocturnal Animals. The Hall County Fire Services will be visiting our school on Monday October 1st. We have NO SCHOOL on Monday October 8th and Tuesday October 9th. Jay Ivey will do a K9 demonstration on Wednesday October 17th. The Academy Fall Festival is on Saturday October 27th from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be a Costume Contest and Parade on Wednesday October 31st.

It's October!! We have lots of fun fall things planned for this month. We will be talking about the new season and all the things happening outside. The month will start off with a fire safety theme, and we will have a visit from the fire station! Next we will learn all about Dinosaurs and even make our own Volcano. We love to watch it erupt!! We will be decorating the classroom with lots of fun fall and Halloween creative art. We will be looking at, sorting, weighing and classifying gourds. We will open up a pumpkin and discover what's inside. Our class will be learning quite a few new songs and finger plays, so I hope you'll be hearing them at home! We have our Fall fieldtrip to Warbington Farm scheduled for October 22nd, so fun! I can't wait to see everyone dressed up on October 31st for our annual costume contest and parade. Hopefully Ms. Kayla and I can figure out who's who. What a fun time of year!!

Parents, on Tuesday, October 31st, please

either send your child to school in their

Important: We are doing our part to stop the spread of illness and germs to protect your child. However, it is also your responsibility to abide by The Academy’s sick policies and

be courteous of other families here.

Please use these guidelines when deciding to send your child to school or keep them at home to

protect others:

A fever of 101 or higher without aid of fever reducers.

Diarrhea and/or vomiting two or more times in an hour

Evidence of head lice or other parasites

Severe coughing

Sore throat

Discolored nasal discharge with other

symptoms

Rapid or difficult breathing

If your child displays any of these symptoms while at The Academy, you will be called to pick them up. If you cannot get here within an hour, you will need to make other arrangements to ensure your child is picked up in a timely manner. Children will not be permitted to return for 24 hours after being sent home, and may not return until they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducers. We do reserve the right to require a doctors note saying your child is not contagious and can 10/30

return to school and it may be helpful to ask for this while you are at the dr. office in case we need it.

*Please also remember that if we are

dispensing medication to your child, and we do so for more than 2 weeks, we MUST have a written doctors statement with specific instructions that treatment must continue. This is a state guideline and something we must take seriously.

Thank you for your cooperation in all of these

matters!
