Efficient work planningInfrastructure and utility service providers rely on CadLite to understand the location and layout of a land parcel to help decide how best to deploy a work team.

Informed site selectionCadLite assists organisations in selecting sites for services, for example, retail or community service centres. From Census analysis to Centrelink support, and health information and services to transport and regional development, CadLite helps optimise service development, promotion and delivery.

Land use changesCadLite is useful in examining urbanisation changes. When paired with the PSMA Land Tenure dataset, CadLite can provide spatial representation of land ownership types for cadastral parcels and show changes in land use.

AboutCadLite contains two themes:

àCadastral: A seamless national database ofcadastral boundaries, excluding easements.

àProperty: A national dataset that identifies thethree relationships that exist between a propertyand a cadastral parcel: (1) one cadastral parcel isequal to one property; (2) many cadastral parcelsmake up one property; and (3) one cadastralparcel contains many properties.

CadLite includes an identifier that allows cross referencing between jurisdictional land titles and other geographic and land administrative data.

Access & applicationsThe CadLite dataset is available through our reseller partners. Our reseller partners also develop products and solutions using the data. Applications of this dataset include:

CadLite is Australia’s only national dataset of cadastral and property boundaries. CadLite integrates the states’ and territories’ unique definitions of parcels into a nationally consistent representation of all cadastral boundaries and land parcels.

Data sources The Land Tenure dataset was built by PSMA Australia following a project with the National Land and Water Resources Audit (NLWRA).

The dataset is maintained through quarterly updates. It uses authoritative government data sourced from the state and territory government mapping agencies and land registries of Australia.

PSMA Partner NetworkThe value of PSMA’s products is enhanced by the richness of the PSMA partner network, which specialises in providing business-ready solutions.

AboutLand tenure is one of the key underlying influences and limitations to changes in land management. The Land Tenure dataset is for organisations that rely on the known tenure of land to inform land management decisions.

Access & applicationsThe Land Tenure dataset is provided through PSMA’s reseller partners. Our reseller partners also develop products and solutions using the data.

Land Tenure supports:

àImproved management of native title, environmental assets and heritage protection

àDefence and disaster management

àBetter infrastructure planning

àExtended statistical analysis of land tenure data

àDetailed operational and strategic planning

àEnhanced property development planning

àIdentification of land ownership, particularly Crown or Indigenous land

àAccess to detailed reserve classifications, including offshore.

The dataset aligns land tenure classifications to cadastral parcel identifiers, requiring the use of the PSMA CadLite dataset to visualise or spatially analyse the Land Tenure dataset.

The Land Tenure dataset links to CadLite through persistent CAD identifiers, making it easy to align the four levels of tenure classifications to cadastral parcels.

Land Tenure contains over 8 million classified land parcels covering a significant area of Australia. Data from the land authorities of the state and territory governments is standardised for ease of use.
