She then started to grow within Intertek’s medical electrical testing team to take on more responsibilities. She has helped mentor new hires, worked with the sales team on projects and quotes, and expanded engineering knowledge into new product categories. Currently, she assists in all areas of the respiratory business including engineering, operations, sales, marketing, and customer support. She also provides training globally to enable scope expansions and a unified understanding of technical content. Caitlin has extensive experience working with standards focused on risk management and electrical safety, specializing in several areas, including ventilators, infusion pumps, respiratory equipment, oxygen, monitors and other equipment. Caitlin joined the Intertek team immediately upon completion of her Bachelors’ degree in Chemical Engineering in 2012. Throughout her tenure at Intertek, she has worked with numerous clients across the medical device industry, from start- ups to established companies. As a member of the medical electrical lab team, Caitlin acts as Intertek’s Global Lead Engineer in respiratory electrical standards. In 2020, Caitlin joined the AAMI COVID-19 response team to assure Intertek’s cooperation and assistance towards assisting manufacturers. Caitlin is well-versed in the US FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for ventilators, resuscitators, and modified CPAP/BIPAP devices. In addition, she has led the development of testing plans and reporting for submission to the FDA. As a Senior Project Engineer, she is also knowledgeable in the compliance and regulatory field, risk management, usability engineering, device design and construction, testing to published standards and custom protocols, and makes every effort to make the compliance process enjoyable for her clients.
