Bon Jour Members, Hope this finds all of you safe and free from flooding water damage. Please support New Iberia Festival September 17th and Gulf Coast Festival October 15th. We will be starting a New Year with nomination and election of Officers and Board Members at our September 8th General Meeting. We will have nominations and elections that night. The postponement of our Le Cajun Awards and Music Festival was a tough decision. Fortunately we were able to secure a new facility and date. Please note, that due to the new date of the Le Cajun Festival, our OCTOBER GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING HAS BEEN CHANGED TO OCTOBER 13TH.

Membership 2017 It is now time to renew your CFMA membership for the 2017 year. CFMA yearly calendar is from October to September. Membership is $20.00 per family. Renewal information has been mailed and may be turned in at the next monthly meeting or mailed to Cindy Broussard, 1026 Bonnie Lane, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517. Membership renewal is due before October 1st. Merci! Chapter Queens It is now time to select the 2016-2017 Chapitre de Lafayette royalty. We have two titles; Teen Miss Chapitre de Lafayette ages 13-16 and Miss Chapitre de Lafayette ages 17-23. For additional information or to request a contest application, you may contact Chapitre de Lafayette’s Queen Director, Rachael Guidry by email [email protected] or you may call 337-371-0017(voice and text messages accepted). Deadline for applications will be September 30th. Interviews will be in held in early October (date to be announced) and crowning will be at the October General Membership meeting.
Scholarship Chapitre de Lafayette annually presents a scholarship to a high school or home school graduate. For more information and applications for the 2017 scholarship, you may contact Harvey Thomassee at 337-667-6800. Applications must be received by March 1, 2017

Traditions
Meals for both meetings will be pot luck. Please bring your favorite dish!! Monthly meetings begin at 7:00pm, at La Poussiere in Breaux Bridge. In addition to entertainment and food, there are door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and a cake walk. Members, be sure to sign in at the door; perfect attendance for a year earns you a free membership the following year. We are beginning a new membership year in October.
Annual Election of Officers: In accordance with the CFMA National By-Laws, nominations for the 2016-2017 Chapitre de Lafayette Board of Directors and Officers have been accepted at the General Membership meetings held in July and August and will again be accepted at the September 2016 meeting with the election held at the September 2016 General Membership meeting.
