Membership

It is time to never too late to join or renew your CFMA membership. The dues are

$20.00 and should be mailed to Mrs. Brenda Sonnier, P.O. Box 773, Scott, LA. 70583.

But don’t delay, you will want to begin receiving your own newsletter as soon as

possible.

Scholarship Information:

Chapitre de Lafayette is accepting applications for the 2016 Scholarship Award. The award is being offered to 2016 high school and home school graduates and will be awarded as follows: $250 in the Fall of 2016 and $250 in the Spring of 2017. In addition to completing the application, applicants must submit a 550 word essay stating why they should be awarded the scholarship and submit a high school transcript. For more information and application forms contact Harvey Thomassee at 337-667-6800. Applications must be received by March 1, 2016.

Chapter Meetings

In the spirit of Thanksgiving and Christmas, we will be collecting can goods at our November and December meetings which will be donated to area food banks.

On November 5, 2015, we will be entertained by Mason Stutes and the Heritage Band. The meal will be potluck and we will be crowning our new royalty.

We will celebrate Christmas at our December meeting which will be held DECEMBER 10, 2015 (NOTE THIS DATE- it is the 2nd Thursday of December). Entertainment will be Allen Trahan and Friends. Leland and Sue Guidry will be preparing gumbo so please bring fixings and desserts. Wear your Christmas colors.

Monthly meetings begin at 7:00pm, at La Poussiere in Breaux Bridge. In addition to entertainment and food, there are door prizes, 50/50 drawing and a cake walk. Members, be sure to sign in at the door; perfect attendance for a year earns you a free membership the following year.

Mark your calendars –Saturday November 14, 2015 La Poussiere will be celebrating its 60th anniversary! Come and celebrate with the Patin’s at the most Authentic Cajun Dance Hall with the best dance floor around. The lineup has all the makings of a Cajun toe-tapping, two –stepping good time! (Free Food with Admission)
