1. For the functions below,
(I) f (x) =sinx

(II) f (x) =ex − 1x
do the following:
(a) Make a table of values of f (x) for
x = 0.1, 0.01, 0.001, 0.0001
−0.1,−0.01,−0.001,−0.0001
(b) Make a conjecture about the value of limx→0
f (x) .
(c) Graph the function to see if it is consistent with your answers to parts (a) and (b) .
2. Choosing several suitable values for x, investigate limx→0
(1 + x)1/x numerically. What is your conclusion?
