Plastic pollution has harmful effects on humans and animals alike. Everyday water is sold in billions of plastic bottles around the world. By 2021 the use of bottled water will have reached 583.3 billion, creating an environment crisis having landed in the oceans (Source: Euromonitor International)

Reduce your use of single-use plastics, separate organic and inorganic waste to enable recycling, participate in cleanups and support the plastic ban by carrying your own bag on your next trip to the mall.

Genetically modified crops and their associated herbicides can harm birds, insects, amphibians, marine ecosystems, and soil organisms. They reduce bio-diversity, pollute water resources, and are unsustainable.

Eat fresh! Avoid processed, canned or tin foods - grow your own if you can. Your body and the environment will thank you!

The mining industry uses an incredibly large amount of water and land resources in their operation, which can be pretty damaging for the environment.

By replenishing the native soils and grasses, cleaning excess waste, disposing waste properly, site inspections and replanting trees & natural forestry, the environment can be restored to its natural state.

The Earth's average temperature has risen by 2°F during the 20th Century (Source: NASA). This is resulting in massive environmental changes such as loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves and erratic rainfalls. A major contributor to this rise is the excessive emission of greenhouse gases and human activities.

SolutionProblem Reduce CO2 emission by reducing the use of automobiles; opt for carpooling & public transport. Curb the use of the major CO2 contributors – fossil fuels (coal, petroleum & natural gas). Support afforestation and prevent deforestation.

In India alone, an approximate of 62 million tonnes of garbage is generated from households every year. Most of which is either dumped into landfills or burned down. The toxins from these penetrate into the soil, groundwater, and air, becoming hazardous to the environment and our daily life.

SolutionProblem Reduce the amount of waste that we produce. Start by composting your food waste or garden waste instead of dumping it. If composting sounds like too much work, you could send your organic waste to a recycling facility.

Our noisy cities, traffic, machinery and electronics disrupt the lives of animals around us. It affects an animal’s ability to hear, makes it difficult for them to find food, locate mates and avoid predators. Often endangering their lives and species on the whole.

SolutionProblem Always be mindful of how much noise we generate or can tolerate. Avoid honking and using loudspeakers. Limiting the use of crackers on Diwali is a good start. Check your noise output.

80% of land animals reside in forests. With uncontrolled deforestation, humans threaten the existence of many species such as Tigers, Rhinos and Orangutans.Water pollution, careless tourism and dynamite fishing are resulting in the destruction of coral reefs and endangering countless species of marine life. Scientists believe that more than 90% of the corals will die by 2050. (Independent)

Agriculture, demand for paper, poorly planned infrastruc-ture and urbanization are some of the chief causes of deforestation and forest degradation. We lose 18.7 million acres of forests annually. (Source: World Wildlife Fund).

Plant more trees, try and go paperless as far as possible and recycle everything you can!

Urbanization has increased the problems of overcrowding, traffic congestion and other major issues. These are directly responsible for natural resource depletion & wastage, pollution, and environment degradation.

Proper township planning along with educa-tion and awareness can help us in natural resource management, conservation and to support initiatives of reuse & recycle.
