MINISTRY OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS

Ministry of Tribal Affairs will include programmes and demonstration of tribal

art & craft during Paryatan Parv in coordination with respective State Tourism

Departments.

TRIFED will participate in Event at Rajpath, New Delhi, with 15 Stalls

MINISTRY OF YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, through the Nehru Yuva Kendras is organising

a series of activities including Awareness Programmes on Tourism and its benefits,

Cultural Programmes, Competitions, Heritage Walks, Seminars & Workshops on

tourism related themes and many more, in various districts of States across the country.

These activities are incorporated in the Calendar of Events.

DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS

Will participate by taking one stall at the Rajpath Event in Delhi.

Promotion of Industrial Tourism during the Paryatan Parv period - The

Laboratory of NATIONAL TEST HOUSE (NTH) will remain open for tourists

to see the 108 year old heritage equipment at Kolkata and the same will be

available at all other Laboratories across the country also.

The mobile laboratory of NTH will oragnise water testing campaigns in and

around tourist places.

DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION

The States of Delhi & Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh & Nagaland and Arunachal

Pradesh & Meghalaya, paired states under Ek Bharat Shreshtha

Bharat programme to participate in the Paryatan Parv in Delhi and in their States

with suitable activities to promote tourism with their partner states.

Indian Institutes of Science Education & Research (IISERs) to carry out

the following activities :-

IISER Pune

(a) Students to visit one major tourist attraction in Pune, take pictures , and

create a pictorial collage with write up about the attractions. (b) Students to identify one major tourist attraction in Odisha State and develop

a slide show or video film on it.

IISER Bhopal

(a) Students to visit and write, with pictures about one big tourist attraction in

Bhopal, with an analytical report on how it can be improved further and steps

needed

by Government to attract more tourists to it. (b) A slide show or short film on tourism attractions of Manipur State, with guide

to visitors on how to access, experience etc.

IISER Thiruvananthapuram

(a) Students to visit one major local tourist attraction, take pictures and give a

write up about its importance and further potential. (b) A report on the tourism potential of Himachal Pradesh, its major attractions,

and how Kerala & Himachal can co-ordinate joint tourism activities.

IISER Mohali

(a) Students to select and visit one major local tourist attraction, take pictures,

give an account of its history & importance, with steps as to how it can be

developed further. (b) Develop a slide show or video clip on major tourist attractions of Andhra

Pradesh state and mention steps as to how joint tourism activities can be

exchanged between the two States.

IISER Kolkata

(a) Come up with a project report or concept note on any place in the district or

around with latent or emerging tourist potential. Report can give history, features

and aspects which make it a good tourist destination. Give steps needed by Govt

to develop the same. (b) Students to visit, take pictures and conduct Swachhata activities in any

existing local tourist destination.

IISER Tirupati

Students to take pictures and give a detailed concept note or project report on

how the facilities at Lord Balaji shrine can be improved further to tackle to

growing rush of pilgrims. Analytically examine and suggest steps like cable cars,

battery cars uphill, banning vehicles uphill etc. and come up with a major, path

breaking approach.

IISER Berhampur

(a) Students may visit a local tourist attraction, take pictures and give a collage

report. (b) Faculty to identify nearby tourist spot with potential, an under exploited or

undiscovered one. A project report or concept note to be prepared on how to

develop it into a major tourist attraction with Govt or private investment.

DEPARTMENT OF SCHOOL EDUCATION & LITERACY

(Central Tibetan Schools Administration)

Local tours taking children to nearby tourist places depending upon the age of

the children.

Special tourist festival in schools to promote tourism.

To organize various activities like quiz, essay writing, debates and painting

competition for school students during this period.

Special painting competition and request students to write essay on the tourist

sites visited.

To organize various tourism related activities like excursion trips to tourist

destination quiz, essay writing, debates and painting competitions for school

students during this period.
