Spoil your Mother this Mother’s Day, with a delectable three-course Sunday lunch cooked to perfection and served in the design and opulence of the Forbury Roseate.

On arrival, you will be greeted by one of our team and taken through to our professional photographer, where he will take a beautiful family shot for you to remember a very special, family day. We will then send one complimentary digital copy to you for your mum to treasure.

Once your photo is taken, you will be shown through to your table, where you can enjoy a delicious meal from our Executive Head Chef, Craig Van Der Meer while listening to our in house pianist.

Gin Dinner – Warner Edwards - Friday 2nd of March

We are delighted to confirm that Emma Moran from Warner Edwards Gin Distillery in Harrington, Northamptonshire will be joining us on Friday 23rd of March for our first from series of Gin Dinners happening at The Forbury Roseate in 2018.

The evening will start with a drinks reception and canapés with the chance to sample gin cocktails. We will then move inside to the dining room for our five course tasting menu accompanied by Warner Edwards gins.

Ferrari Sparkling Wine Dinner – Friday 29th of June

Sparkling wines are the ultimate wine of choice when it comes to celebrations of special occasions. But sparkling wines are too often neglected, and vastly underappreciated when it comes to pairing them with food throughout a meal – from appetizers to dessert.

We are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with our good friends from Ferrari Sparkling Wine on the 8th of June to host a night full of fizz and sumptuous food.

Ferrari is famous for making Italy's top sparkling wine in the traditional way with the champagne grapes, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We are lucky enough to try six of the sparkling wines with the highlight being the world class 2004 Giulio Riserva.

Whisky and Chocolate Tasting for the beginner and expert alike. Classically when chocolate has been paired with whisky- it tends to be boring plain dark chocolate. Nice enough but we thought we would do something a bit different, so we have paired four great drinking drams with four very different chocolates.

Gin Tasting Masterclass with Afternoon Tea – Saturday 18th of August

Pairing two of life’s simple joys – gin and good food – this superb two-part experience is perfect for whiling away an indulgent afternoon together.

You’ll kick things off with a gin cocktail in hand and you’ll be guided through a number of four different gins, garnishes and mixers. Along the way, you’ll learn a little about Britain’s complicated relationship with the famous juniper infused spirit. At the end, pick up your favourite G&T to take with your afternoon tea.

Macallan Whisky Masterclass – Friday 14th of September

Sample The Macallan single malt Scotch whiskies at Cerise Bar at this exclusive hotel The Forbury Roseate.

Hosted by brand ambassador from The Macallan, the immersive evening will include a trilogy of 12 Year Old expressions – Fine Oak, Sherry Oak and Double Cask – as well as Rare Cask and Macallan 18 Years Old.

Gin Dinner – Sipsmith – Friday 28th of September

The gin flavour spectrum can range from dry to floral, citrus, savoury, sweet or spiced. Our talented gin experts from Sipsmith will host an exploration through flavour whilst guests enjoy a bespoke tasting menu of individually paired dishes inspired by classic infusions. Ginthusiast from Sipsmith will also enlighten guests about the blending process and history of gin production in the capital.

Executive Head Chef has created a five-course menu designed to complement the spirit and highlight each aroma and botanical. Expect to learn about the huge range of botanicals used when blending gin, how best they are complemented and of course, which cocktails this versatile spirit work best in.

1911 was the year that The Forbury Roseate was built as the Shire Hall for Berkshire County Council. Admire the historic detailing, wide hallways and high vaulted ceilings of this Grade I listed building. With a maximum capacity of up to 120 people for stand up reception styled events and 90 for sit down dinners, it is the ideal setting for any festive event from a cocktail reception to a black tie dinner dance.

These conditions apply to all guests attending our social events programme (excluding Christmas Parties, Festive Lunches, Christmas Lunch, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve Party);

1. To book any one of our fabulous events please contact our events team on 01189 527 770 or email [email protected]. We will be delighted to discuss the menu options available along with your seating preferences and other needs. Please note – we will endeavour to seat large parties together, however due to the nature and individual design of our function suites, this may not always be possible.

2. To reserve your table, a full-prepayment is required and gratuities are at your discretion.

3. Special requests (e.g. dietary requirements) must be made known to

the hotel at least 7 days before the event.

4. Please be aware that for parties over 12 guests, a menu pre-order is required 14 days prior to the event.
