Always Listen to Mom!
A W arning for those who don't listen totheir mothers when they used to tell us DONOT.... I REPEAT...DO NOT Talk tostrangers .. Especially in restrooms... Here'swhy...
While waiting to catch a plane in the Melbourne Airport, I decided to visit the restroom. Thefirst cubicle was occupied, so I went into thesecond one. I was no sooner seated andcomfortable than I hear a voice from the firstcubicle ask, "Hi, how are you doing?" W ell, Iam not the type to chat with strangers inrestrooms, and I really don't know quitewhat possessed me, but anyway, Ianswered, a little embarrassed: "Not bad."
And the stranger said: "And, what are youup to?" Talk about your dumb questions! I wasreally beginning to think this was too weird! SoI said: "W ell, just like you, I'm waiting to board a
jet. "
Then, I heard the stranger, all upset, say,"Look, I'll call you back. There's some idiotin the next stall answering all the questionsI'm asking you!"
BECOME A GOOD
OBSERVER The 5 W's and an H of Life
We must never allow a day to passwithout finding the answers to alist of important questions suchas: What is going on in ourindustry? What new challenges arecurrently facing our government? Our Community? OurNeighbourhood? What are the newbreakthroughs, the new
opportunities, the new tools andtechniques that have recently cometo light? Who are thenew personalities that areinfluencing world and local opinion?
We must become good observersand astute evaluators of all that isgoing on around us. All eventsaffect us, and what affects usleaves an imprint on what we willone day be and how we will one daylive.
One of the major reasons why
people are not doing well isbecause they keep trying to getthrough the day. A moreworthy challenge is to try to getfrom the day. We must becomesensitive enough to observe andponder what is happening aroundus. Be alert. Be awake. Let life and
all of its subtle messages touch us. Often, the most extraordinaryopportunities are hidden among the seemingly insignificant events of life. If we do not pay attention to these events, we can easily miss theopportunities.
So be a good observer of both life and the world around you!

"WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHY, WHEN andHOW" was a formula we used to mapout all of the details to get a completestory. By asking each of thosequestions we were able to reveal thewhole story without leaving a rockunturned. Little did I know at that timehow effective this mind mapping toolwould be in uncovering the whole truthof a person's life. By asking each of
these questions, you could better createa clear vision for personal growth, goalsetting and timed framedachievements. Let's take a look at howthese questions can be applied to yourlife.

At some point, I think everyone hasasked themselves "WHO AM I?" Howdo you define an identity? What arethe true elements that make a persongenuinely unique? Although the factors
could change from person to person, there are some things that apply toeveryone like having values and/ormorals. Below are a few questions youcould ask yourself to help define youridentity:
What value

you like
your legacy to be? How do youwant others to view you? Whatdo you feel is your life'spurpose?
By looking internally and taking the time to come up with honest responses, youcould better form your identity and start living your true authentic self, while beingaligned with your life's purpose.

By having a solid understanding of what you want, you are able to set goals andtake steps to create your IDEAL LIFE. When I was training to become a coach atthe World Coach Institute, one of my instructors shared with the class one of themost profound questions that can be used to uncover any goal or personaldestination you may have.
What is your ultimategoal?
By asking this question, you can dig deep and remove all of the superficial layersand get to the root of what is going to make you successful: THE DRIVE ANDMOTIVATION OF ACHIEVING YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL!!! Sounds pretty good doesn'tit? The first step of achievement would be assessing your daily, weekly, monthlytasks and ensure they are stepping stones to the ultimate goal. If you start to feellost, ask yourself if what you are doing fits in with this wonderful ultimate goal. If itdoesn't, you need to get

Have you ever sat and day dreamedabout where you'd like to be 5, 10 15or 20 years from now. What sort of lifeare you living? Who is with you? What isyour living environment look like?Have you achieved all of your goals?Having the drive to dream aboutwhere we would like to be iscertainly a strong force in achievingyour ultimate goal.
When asking yourself where you'dlike to be whether literally or
figuratively, you need to focus on thepositive and less on where you don'twant to be. If you think about asthough it has already happened, youare far more likely to attract thosegoals. If you focus on the positive, youwill attract the positive but thesame works with the negative. If you continually focus on where youdon't want to be, you're far more likelyto attract exactly what you don'twant. One thing that is veryimportant to establishing somedirection in your life is by knowingwhen you have reached

There is a great tool that many coaches and other professionals use for goalsetting. It is the acronym:
Specific, Measureable, Achievable,Realistic, Time-bound
I love this tool as a coach because it makes the process of setting goals mucheasier. For the purpose of this segment we will just focus on the Time Framedportion of SMART. Set a time limit on when you would like to achieve your goal.Without a time limit, there is no sense of urgency in achieving your goal. Having atime frame also allows you to measure your progress.
HOW
?
So I guess this is the million dollar question. You have established yourself as atruly unique individual, have an understanding of what your ultimate goal(s) is,you know what you want your life to look like and where you'd like to be, you areclear why your goals are important to you and you've given yourself a time framefor completion. Now what? You need to create an action plan for making all of thesethings happen. Start living the way you want your life to be, embody your goals, stay true to your vision and write down the steps you are going to take in order tolive your IDEAL LIFE daily. Ensure that every life decision you make is a significant
piece of your li fe goal puzzle and that all of the pieces fit together. Have fun, embrace your passion and stay true to "WHO" you really are. Being honest withyourself will be your compass in whatever direction you want your life to lead.

WHY
?
Why is it so important to achieve yourgoals? Thismay seem a bit obvious but honestly if you can't name a few reasons off thetop of your head, your goals may not bepowerful enough. The first step couldbe asking yourself why these goalsare important to you. You need togive your goals conviction. If youdon't, you are far less likely toachieve them. Setting goals gives you along term vision and short termmotivation. There is also a sense of
pride when you have completed yourgoals. Here are some great questionsyou can ask to pave your way throughgoal setting.
What will I gain by achieving mygoals? What will I gain by notachieving my goals? How will my life be better by achievingmy goals? How will I feel knowing whatI've accomplished? Does this helpshape my legacy?
Remember that only you cananswer these questions, but you maygain some clarity and a sense of urgency in accomplishing your goals
when you fully understand why you aretrying to achieve them.
