What is your educational goal?

Certificate Programs A certificate program is a short-term program in a

vocational, technical or business field. Certificate programs focus on preparing you for a specific occupation or area of employment.

Associate in Arts Degree (A.A.) or Associate in Science Degree (A.S.) First degree you can earn signifying the completion of 60

semester units of college coursework.

Transfer Program You must complete 60 transferable units (G.E.) required

for a Bachelor’s Degree and transfer as a junior to a 4-year institution. (IGETC Transfer Pathway)

Certificate & Associates Degree Programs

Delta has about 200 programs in: Applied Science and Technology Business Disability Support Program English Language Arts Family & Consumer Sciences Fine Arts & Communication Health Sciences Physical Education, Recreation, & Athletics Science & Mathematics Social Science

Transferring to a UC or CSUStudents should consult with their community college counselorand a representative of the campus to which they plan to transfer to. Students need to research:

1. Admission requirements for the planned college or university.

2. General education requirements. Consult with a counselor to select a general education pattern that best meets transfer goals (CSU, UC, or the IGETC pattern).

3. Major preparation courses which meet prerequisites for upper division coursework. Consult with your counselor to determine which lower division courses and major preparation courses should be completed before transfer.

4. Work with the Transfer Center to facilitate a smooth transition for students transferring to a four-year college or university.

5. www.assist.org shows how course credits earned at one public California college/university can be applied when transferred to another. ASSIST provides the most accurate and up-to-date information available about articulation and student transfer in California.

Transfer Admissions Guarantee Programs (TAG)

Several UC campuses and University of the Pacific provide students the

opportunity to develop a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)agreement. These agreements will guarantee admission to the

campus for which the agreement is written. Student who fulfill the terms as outlined in the TAG will be automatically admitted upon completion ofthe formal admission process.

To determine which institutions are currently offering TAG and to develop an individual TAG agreement, students should see their counselor as soon as possible during their first semester.

TAG is currently available at the following campuses:UC Davis, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, UC San Diego, UC Merced, UC Irvine, CSU Stanislaus (Delta College Only), and University of the Pacific (Delta College only).

Admission1. Delta College has a wide variety of financial assistance

programs to help students with educational costs. The Financial Aid Office provides information on grants, fee waivers, scholarships, loans and work-study jobs available for qualified Delta College students.

2. Go to Delta’s website, www.deltacollege.edu, and follow the instructions for online registration. You Should receive a Delta College ID number and a Delta College email address after 3-5 business days. All correspondence from Delta is emailed to students at their Delta College email address.

3. All new students are required to take a Reading, English, and Mathematics assessment (placement test). You must make an appointment to take this assessment. Log into www.deltacollege.edu, click the “New/Returning Students” select “Enroll at Delta College in 5 Easy Steps” and proceed to Step 3.

Advising session or meet with a Delta College Counselor. Counselors will assist students in developing a “first semester” course list and provide essential Certificate, Associates Degree, transfer, and financial aid information.

5.Registration means enrolling in courses. Make sure that you have your Delta ID number and have met the assessment requirements prior to registration.

Extended Opportunity Program Services (EOPS)

EOPS provides academic services and helps create opportunities for students with academic potential who historically would not have attended college.

Students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Be a California resident Be enrolled in 12 units (waitlisted classes will not count) Not have completed more than 40 degree applicable units in any

combination of post-secondary higher education institutions. Qualify to receive the Board of Governors Fee Waiver, A or B (low

income). Be educationally disadvantaged as determined by EOPS

Regulations (first generation college student).

Final reminders… January- Apply for FAFSA & Cal Grant (Financial

Aid)*Attend LHS Financial Aid Night, Wednesday, November 7th at 6:30 pm (Room 1113), for more information.

March/April- Start applying to community colleges and complete the matriculation process (ie. assessment tests, meeting with counselor, etc.).

April/May-Register for Summer/Fall courses at the same time.
