CALL FOR

The TEACHING TRACKS demonstrate experiential approaches, present case studies, and share teaching modules or courses in entrepreneurship education.

COMPETITIVE EXPERIENTIAL EXERCISES

The Competitive Experiential Exercises Track is designed for educators to demonstrate their most impactful classroom exercises. The objective is to showcase those who are teaching entrepreneurship by doing, and doing so to create a community within USASBE where we can share the varying types of classroom experiences that bring learning to life. During the sessions in this track, you will have 30 minutes to perform your exercise, or an abbreviated version of your exercise. The audience will act as your students and will expect to participate in active learning by doing; treat them like your students (be kind).

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Between 800 and 1200 word summary explaining the exercise, including the following:

o General topic area (i.e., ideation, finance, marketing, customer development, design thinking)

o Courses and levels for which the exercise is appropriate (i.e., undergraduate or graduate level)

o Major concepts or issues addressed by the exercise

o Description of the exercise, including a timeline (schedule) for the session (i.e., describe in detail how does the exercise work and how will you use the participants as students and what will the “students” do during the session)

o Key discussion questions and points the educator can use to debrief and reflect on the exercise

o Lessons learned or teaching tips from your experience using the exercise

o References

o Figures and/or tables as needed

Pre-confer-ence sessions are open to teaching, research and learning workshops and programs that are strongly positioned to create excellent experiences for attendees. Topics might include: teaching with unique technologies, teaching in unique and exciting ways, successful strategy workshops for leveraging research in the classroom, centers, programs, and ecosystems.
