“THE ANALYSIS OF SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONFLICTS IN CHILE” CALL FOR PAPERS: ACADEMIC WORKSHOP September 28th and 29th - Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany Goethe University Frankfurt and Red INVECA e.V. (the network of Chilean researchers in Germany) invite sub- missions for the academic workshop “The analysis of social and environmental conflicts in Chile”. The main goal is to bring together researchers from diffe- rent disciplines (anthropology, economics, history, politi- cal science, sociology, etc.) to present and discuss origi- nal studies. Research on all related topics are welcomed, but the main focus will be on quantitative and qualitative analysis on: • The Mapuche conflict, • New social movements, • The impact of natural resources exploitation on local communities, and • New data for conflict measurement. The workshop will take place at Goethe University Frank- furt, Campus Westend. Apart from the presentations, there will be keynote speakers and a special session to present the Mapuche Data Project (MDP) and the Mapu- che Conflict Events Database (MACEDA). Additional infor- mation, including the updated program and the registra- tion form, can be found on the workshop’s webpage: https://sites.google.com/view/workshop-conflicts-chile Submissions must be full papers or extended abstracts (at least 1,000 words). The studies must be submitted as a single pdf to the email workshop.conflicts.chile@g- mail.com as well as filling in the online registration form on the workshop’s webpage. Application deadline is August 13, 2017 at midnight (CET). The results of the selection by the scientific committee are expected to be communicated in the first week of September. Limited funding will be available to support selected students travelling within Europe who do not have their own budget to participate in the workshop.
