Who we are

Park House is an inpatient treatment service providing residential detoxification and stabilisation for anyone over the age of 18 struggling with drug or alcohol use. Treatment at Park House is tailored to individual needs.

Are you...

• Worried about your drinking or drug use?

• Concerned about your health or personal relationships?

• In need of tailored support in a residential environment to stabilise/stop using drugs or alcohol?

• In need of a detox before moving onto rehab or day care?

• Worried about someone else in respect of any of the above?

What we offer

• Free and confidential inpatient detoxification and stabilisation service* for over 18s who have an issue with the use of opiates, such as methadone and heroin, alcohol, benzodiazepines, non-opiate drugs such as crack cocaine, legal highs or others

• 18 bed residential unit, staffed 24 hours a day - 7 days a week, by an experienced team of specialist doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants. Beds are allocated to both Birmingham residents and non-Birmingham residents

• Clinical and operational on-call systems

• A comprehensive package of medical care and prescribing to support detox or stabilisation

• A structured programme of groups and activities to support you during your stay and to prepare you for when you leave

• Support from our wonderful peer mentor volunteers, who understand exactly what you are going through as they’ve been there themselves

• Access to NA/AA and SMART groups

• Healthcare and housing support

• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

• Emotional Freedom Technique – a style of counselling which uses alternative medicine

* Criteria applies for inpatient treatment at Park House. Free for Birmingham residents, a cost will apply for non-Birmingham residents.

How long does treatment last?

Most stays at Park House are for two weeks but this can vary dependent on your needs.
